Re: Rawle Alkins
It's about matchups, so the flexibility next year helps. You can't just run with a 4-guard lineup and Smith or Markannen, expecting those five to beat the other five every night. Team rebounds will matter and there will be situations where you lose the matchup in the low post, racking up fouls and ...

Re: 16/17 Schedule
As a fan, I would love to see stronger opponents in the preseason, and I say preseason because that's what non-con is when you have 18-21 games that follow before the tournament. But in terms of getting the team ready for March and April, I just don't know if it matters. Again, 18-21 games follow, a...

I'd also say that, despite his poor numbers, Trier looked to be one of the only Cats out there trying to grind. He wasn't getting it...he was having an off day. I really hope I'm wrong but a recent video of LM's game (not just highlights but a real attempt at showing aspects of his game) showed a player who needs a lot of strength and improvement on the court. He's playing mainly against midgets and plays like a guard. Looks like a four year player. Again, ...

Gordon, RHJ, Stanley were true game-changers. Miller gets his share.
I have no inside info but I have followed this recruitment from afar and like Goodman says, nothing seems concrete. The crystal ball thing is such a joke. Wish it would die already.

Miller is correct. Trier will be one of the Elite players in the country next year. Great chance to be the most efficient scoring guard Miller has ever had. Defense should improve tremendously as well. It wouldn't be right if he and Smith never played together.

I'm more concerned about rebounding and defending the basket than raw size. Hassan Adams was 6'4" but a monster on the glass. Losing Zeus is a big deal. I don't see anyone replacing him. I don't think Puerco was commenting on Miller's ability as a coach. He says that without a doubt he believes Miller will win a title some day. I think his comments were strictly about Miller's resume looking like that of a midmajor coach and nothing more, so I don't think the state of the program be...

Zeus may not be a stretch four but I like him to further develop the range on his jumpshot. He's not Channing Frye but in 3-4 years I can see him capable of moving to the corners and the top of the 3pt line. He also has enough mobility to get by 7-footers if his shot draws enough respect. His hands ...

Certainly wouldn't be the first senior to play outside of his ability in a misguided effort to be a leader on a non-elite team. Those boys shoot a ridiculous 50% from three and we win by two, with the line being that Wisconsin was only in the game because of the three ball. But 67%? There is no way to beat that. And it's not like it was bad defense. Props to Wisconsin. We will get some luck eventually.

Best of luck, Rabb. It would have been great to see him play for us.
I still feel great about Trier, Smith, Simon and Comanche. Plus Anderson and Allen. Different team. Not a defensive force. But still a 5 seed or better with a shot to make some noise in the tournament.
