There is a lot of overreaction. Most good teams who play in major conferences go through inconsistencies, ups and downs throughout the season. No need for anyone to panic. In the next game or so, the team may gel again and look like a well-oiled machine and the people will start talking final fours....

Bibby was the best point guard to wear a Wildcat uniform. Not to take anything away from all the other greats that played the position and did wonderful things for the program, but Bibby is number one.

Arizona has been a top-ten program for 30 years, the only hiccup being the two years encompassing the end of the Lute era and Miller's first year. No legitimate list would keep Arizona out of the top-ten.

Hard to imagine Trier not starting. He was a major recruit coming in as a freshman, played big minutes when healthy, was arguably the best player on the team, and now has a year of major D1 experience.

Is this about the lack of playing time during the season, or concerns about getting any substantive playing time in the future? His athleticism was evident when he did get on the court; he seemed to have potential, but needed time to develop. Hope it works out for him in another program.

This program has been on the cusp of getting there quite a few times in recent years. Had D. The team finished the year how they started. The guard play simply was not there this year. For all of the praise given to York, he was very much a one-dimensional player, and an inconsistent one at that. He represented AZ well and could really light it up at times, but had way too many cold streaks...

It was a terrible hire, everyone knew it outside of UCLA. The only conceivable reason to keep him is the steep buy-out provision. The recruits will always flock to UCLA to some degree, so that cannot be a reason to keep him simply because there is a good class coming in.

It has been AZ/UCLA for roughly 30 years. Both programs have had short periods of diminished play, and there have been other teams that have had short windows of elite play (Cal, Stanford, Washington, Oregon come to mind), but consistently, it has been AZ and UCLA. Those are the two elite programs.

Such a steep drop is a bit of surprise. But this is AZ, not KY or KS or Duke. If one of those squads loses a tight game without a starting center to a team now in the top 25, they aren't dropping 8 spots.
