Re: let's talk '18
I posted it in the FBI thread about a week ago, but there was a tweet from a LA Times reporter that the FBI is looking into an ASU assistant coach. The exact tweet was "Among the people the subpoena requested information on: Arizona State assistant Anthony Coleman. He played for Long Beach State and...

Re: Sean Miller
I guess at this point all I have to look forward to is that he hires a young, up-and-coming assistant coach who can take over when he leaves. Geez this is depressing.

Re: Bribery Scandal - FBI Probe - Book Richardson Involved
https://twitter.com/nathanfenno I could not figure out how to post a screen shot, but Scheer retweeted a tweet this guy posted about documents linked to now Cal State Northridge coach Mark Gottfried being subpoenaed by the FBI. In a follow-up tweet, he wrote "Among the people the subpoena requested...

Re: Coach Sumlin
I believe AZ can be a better football school than people think. I think a consistent Top-25 programs is doable, with the right coach. There are some schools that have set some good models. Wisconsin has become a perennial top-15 program without a roster full of 4 and 5 star recruits. They've establi...

Re: It's the coach, not the players!
Arizona basketball is simply a company whose stock has been high for the better part of three decades, but has seen its stock take a tumble recently. A smart CEO (coach) will recognize the opportunity to buy low, so to speak, with a very realistic expectation that this too shall pass and that UA's s...

Re: Official Selection Sunday Thread
This committee just made the statement that the conference season is meaningless. ASU finished 8th in the regular season and were the first team out in the tourney. USC finished 2nd in both. Unreal.
ASU was completely irrelevant in an irrelevant (nationally) conference.

Re: President Bobby Robbins
Robbins deserves a lot of credit for being very pragmatic during this whole episode. He hasn't caved to the witch hunt mentality. He's been very supportive. And if evidence is revealed that Sean Miller is deserving of being fired, then Robbins will take appropriate action. But he's not reactionary....

A work buddy of mine desperately wants to buy the new warm-ups UA has. The white ones with the hood. Does anyone know if this can be purchased and where?

Re: Sean Miller
As it relates to the FBI/NCAA investigation moving forward, Miller just went all in. Such a public denial in such specificity can only mean he's supremely confident that whatever the FBI/NCAA has or will have will not touch him. If something is found that proves he lied just now, he will look like R...

Re: Sean Miller
97, two questions for you. 1. Given the amount of people involved in the recruitment and payment of players - coaches, players, families, agents, shoe companies, etc. - surely there are bound to be individuals who feel they have been wronged and seek revenge by blowing the whistle on the whole opera...

Re: Sean Miller
My hope for a minimal punishment by the NCAA rests on the fact that so many schools are involved in this that they can't all possibly be dealt crushing penalties, but more importantly, the NCAA's reputation is really taking a hit. LeBron's called it corrupt and the calls for paying players is gettin...

Re: Sean Miller
The worst part of all of this for me personally has been having to explain this mess to my 9-year-old son. He is a diehard UA basketball fan who can hold his own in a bball conversation with most adults. We make the drive down to Tucson each season for one football game and one basketball game, but ...

Re: Sean Miller
It's been said already, but the sheer number of posts can lead to confusion. If I understand 97 correctly, if Miller is relieved of his coaching duties prior to the end of the season, it will not be because of the claims in this ESPN story. Rather, it will be that the story has brought renewed atten...

I'm gonna let the sun shine on some rather dark imaginations, wakey, wakey, eggs and bakey... First of all Romar and his recruiting... A TON of these really good players are being raised by single moms who's entire support net UP UNTIL NOW has been grandma, her faith and the church...a lot of you m...

Re: Bribery Scandal - FBI Probe - Book Richardson Involved
think it would be a colossal mistake to fire Sean prematurely, before seeing how this all shakes out. Unless he is a bag man, but I highly doubt that. We would be screwed if this hits and 46 top schools are implicated but our coach is not directly and everyone else just resets, with the NCAA saying...
