Re: Coach Sumlin

Typical hilarious post this week on the scum board: I grew up in an a&m family and follow the program. His teams are undisciplined, he’s lazy on the recruiting trail and he can’t develop a QB. You can’t compare recruiting at A&M to recruiting to tucson...for crying out loud the rats don’t even have...

That's fair, they did know what they were getting into. But going from Lloyd Carr power run to up tempo, option spread are two very different styles and philosophies. I think they learned the hard way, that it just wouldn't work. The same way air-raid won't be continually successful the SECW. Look a...

Howdy! Here are a few things you can expect to see from Coach Sumlin over the off season! Pros: 1. He will certainly bring a new energy to your program, he is very engaging and great with the media. However, with us, at times, he did come off a little smug, personally I liked it. We were always gett...

44.7 points per game seems oddly specific. Just a rough guess. That's 3 to 4 points per game which I believe is very doable, but it certainly could be as much as 7 a game! Sumlin does believe in special teams, so I expect him to go out and find a really good PK . That will be a welcome change. Anyo...

Re: Coach Sumlin

Here are some things to expect from your coach (Offensive breakdown) 1. Expect to see your base formation to 4 WR, 5OL and a 1 back set. 2. You will rarely use a TE 3. Expect to see your team speed increase, across the board. 4. Your O will move fast, I expect to see you run 80-90 plays a game 5. Po...

In other words, Sumlin did less with more. A&M achieved your stats with an avg SOS of 19 while AZ’s avg was #40 over those years.
