Re: 2020 Season Thread
I've been checking out the other Pac-12 scores and as a league the Pac-12 is not doing well, too many games lost to teams that have no business beating a Pac-12 school. This part of the year is critical, because once you start playing league games, you just start beating each other up, and the leagu...

Hopefully they can still pull this one out tonight, but even if they do they still won't have beaten a quality team this season, just beaten up some cupcakes. I don't see this team getting better, more going the other way...

Re: 2019 Season Thread
The pitching can only get better(one would hope), but I think we're underestimating the offense hit of losing guys like Cannon and Quintana, for sure, and possibly Dyer and Fraizer. It is good that other guys got in there and contributed this year, like Dooney and Boissiere. Holgate should be better...

Re: 2019 Season Thread
TCU got in because of their record against Top 50 opponents, which was pretty good. That means they lost to several lousy teams, but the committee doesn't care about that... Duke got in, well.....because they're Duke. Florida State getting in was a gift to Mike Martin, no doubt. Here is a comparison...

Re: 2019 Season Thread
Yeah, I hope I'm wrong but I don't see the Cats getting in. According to Boydsworld this morning, they are 46 RPI, 35 ISR. The ISR is a much more mathematically correct ranking system than RPI, but don't tell the committee that. Yes, the Cats have been red-hot lately (albeit against lousy teams), th...

Re: 2019 Season Thread
Getting that Vainer kid from Alabama for next year may be quite the pickup! In 30 innings this year, he struck out 43 while giving up only 18 hits (that's a NASTY index of 2.39(k's divided by hits)) and a 3.34 ERA, in the SEC no less! Now on the negative, he did walk 21 in those 30 innings, but this...

Re: 2019 Season Thread
The only chance Arizona has to make the tournament is if the NCAA puts a lot of stock in the last 10 games record, provided Arizona can win out. Even if they do that, their ISR/RPI just isn't good enough. The general ranking cut off point each year for making it as an at large team is around 42-44 w...

Wow, I didn't realize Oregon has lost 10 of their last 11. I looked at a field projection 2-3 weeks ago and they were in, but definitely not now! Sorry I was so off on that.......
Yeah, Cal looks to be in, and maybe Washington has an outside chance.

Well, the Cats are now going up to Corvallis to play three against OSU. A very tough task, indeed. What could be considered a good weekend? I would say one win, and keep it close and competitive in one other game. I think it's a virtual lock that at least one will be a OSU blowout win.
