Re: 2017 recruits/commitment thread
Arizona will not sustain success until they start getting their share of "not under recruited" talent. You can talk all you want about diamonds in the rough, and guys who were unknown, and blahblahblah. But Arizona will not have sustained success as a top-5 Pac-12 school until they have top-5 Pac-1...

Re: It was bound to happen, I suppose
No panic here, and this is still a great year...so far. However, the question last night was "How good is Arizona?" Are they undefeated, legit contender for the conference title good? Or are they improving from year to year, but still not quite at championship caliber yet good? Nobody at the beginni...

Re: Have you ever seen a less explosive spread/no huddle tea
I think Anu throws a nice short ball, and has a decent fade.
He doesn't seem to throw nearly as well on post routes.
I didn't really see why we didn't abuse their corners even more. Like, a lot more.
We were happy taking the dumps for the first downs, and USC was happy giving them to us.

It was bound to happen, I suppose
Honestly, Arizona looked pretty awful tonight. The "talent" difference was rather start in the trenches - there really is a difference between 2/3 stars and 4/5 starts. And you can coach those 2/3s up, sure...but you can't coach them bigger. Anu looked like a freshman on so many plays tonight. Which...

Re: THE USC Trojans Discussion & Predictions Thread
I think Arizona answers any lingering doubts about how real they are today. The defense is still not dominating, but gets the stop it needs. The offense shows that they are really something special. When USC puts 7 or more in the box, the WR's make them pay, and if they try to double any of them, RR...

Re: Rich Rod
I think we owe so very much to Michigan. Not only were they dumb enough to screw over one of the great offensive minds of college football coaching, they did so in a manner that I *think* has made Rodriguez realize just what is and is not important in his career. Maybe this is mostly wishful thinkin...

Isn't that always true?AzDave wrote:Yep. Also, Jones, Grant, Phillips, Griffey, Neal....all sophomores. As long as Anu keeps growing as a player and improving, he'll have all the weapons he needs.azpenguin wrote:Solomon will have Wilson along as well. Choo choo.

Pac-12 Play of the Week
I am not at all biased, and think Wilson trucking Mr All American Super Nike Cornerback was a thing of classic beauty.

The rest of the schedule...odds of finishing...
Wow, expectations just went crazy. And rightly so - Arizona just took down one of the best programs in college football at home. You don't beat Oregon at home much. Nobody does. This is a truly great time to be a Wildcat football fan. So fraking exciting. Here is what I think we (I) know right now: ...

Re: Is USC a must win?
Season wise: Not a must win, but a hugely important game for the conference race, if only because the rest of the schedule is brutal. This might be the second easiest game we have left on our schedule. Program wise: Not a must win, but again, hugely important. If we lose this game, we look like - ma...

Re: The Official Drop the 3-3-5 Thread.
The problem is this: The 335 takes very specific types of athletes to run it. When Casteel came in, the story was that he didn't have those kinds of athletes, so we would have to wait a bit until he got them. Now we've waited a bit, they've recruited athletes to play that scheme, and it is still app...
