Re: The 2021-2022 Season Thread
It's been a while since I've paid attention to the media after the first weekend. Are they always this reactionary? One Iffy weekend and it's like 33 wins never happened. We all have a different perspective of course bc our one banner came after barre escapes against a 13 and a 12 seed. I just find ...

Re: South Region Discussion
I actually think their fans are pretty reasonable. They have a good program and a great coach. They're coming off an impressive first weekend. I think their posture is fine. They have a couple misunderstandings about our roster but that's to be expected.

Re: South Region Discussion
TCU actually cut into the lead prior to Miles checking back in. If I recall they got it from 9 down to 5. Miles actually left the game with the score at 57-52 Arizona, but did indeed come back in when score was 67-58. My bad then. Could have sworn I remembered the announcers commenting about them c...

Re: The 2021-2022 Season Thread
Had to look this up: with two more wins (ie: reaching the Final Four), Tommy Lloyd will equal the most wins Lute Olson ever had in a single season at AZ. Tommy is at 33. Sean Miller won 34 in '15. The historic dimension of what Coach Lloyd has done this year is kinda mind-blowing. This is Lloyd’s 6...

The problem with that is Arizona is potentially an outlier in that they might just be the most talented team in the country.RondaeShimmy wrote: ↑Tue Mar 22, 2022 11:43 am
Why? The preseason mostly ranks the talent and potential overall of the team whereas the regular season poll is just performance week to week.

Re: South Region Discussion
I can see the post trapping going both ways. We're a bit of a paradox against that particular strategy in that we are both suspect at being strong with the ball and keeping it up high away from smaller players while also being truly elite at both interior passing and cutting without the ball. It wou...

I don't see it with Kansas. They'll likely get to the Final Four bc of their gift of a draw (both seeding and upsets) but I just don't think that's all that talented of a roster.

Re: Houston Scout
I don't get the impression they gamble all that much; more like grind and bang. I don't really consider it gambling but they do like to trap in the post a good bit. That strikes me as a risky strategy given our interior passing, size advantage and cutting ability so it will be interesting to see ho...

Two things to note w/r/t Houston: 1 - they had a two point lead with eight minutes left and a four point with about six and half minutes left; 2 - they've lost three times since February 9 Also to Note: Illinois is nothing but Cockburn and a few above average guards. Miles was not allowed to touch the line. That is only allowed when crossing the line in the first place. If any part of ball or player is not entirely across the line in the first place then they can retreat. Miles was entirely established in the front court. His foot clearly hits the line. Unless t...

1. I know CTL wanted to get Kerr back into the swing of things, but they made their run and TCU started to hunt him on defense, which negates the Ballo / Koloko tandem lineup.
