Quite an attractive place. Wabash (where she lives) is a cute little town although most my relatives live in Ft. Wayne which is pretty nice too.

Not a lot of redeeming anything in South Bend. Same with Terre Haute.

Generally, there's a corner of Indiana that are the suburbs of Chicago. Outside of that, well, you just kind of have fly over or drive through with some good music to keep yourself occupied, and a packed lunch because it's really hard to find food for human beings.

Northern Indiana's larger towns - Ft. Wayne, Muncie, Anderson, Elkhart, and Hammond - is about the most faded and receded string of towns I've traveled through. They all feel very stale, bored, and deflated.

The weirdest one I've heard yet is in southern New Jersey. Instead of being "careful", you're "curlful." I said I'd have to wear a wig for that.

In Tucson there are nuances within nuances. A 'wash' is a desert stream bed. A 'Dry wash' is a needlessly redundant formal term for the same thing. An arroyo on the other hand is a desert stream bed. See? They are completely different.

A wash with water in it is a 'flash flood'. An arroyo with water in it is Alvernon Way after a chubasco.

Picking a word for the entire nation of Australia is easy: 'hey maaaaate!'. Identifying words for each state requires more thought.

South Australia is easy: 'Pie Floater'.
Queensland 'the White Shoe Brigade' (semi-shonky real estate developers) or maybe 'Meter Maid'(gold bikinis that cash up your parking meter) or even 'XXXX' (cause they can't spell beer).
New South Wales: ?
Victoria: ? (maybe 'latte set')
Tasmania: ?

I think that's a Region-ism. I've never heard that south of Merrillville

I heard it in Indy too, but maybe they were region rats.
