Re: Why I Own The World
I've got the sincere thank you and all kinds of positive language. But it expresses certain principles that those addressed haven't tolerated.

Nah. Your Maybe sounds great. Cardinal rule---keep it short and don't burn no bridges. A big insincere thank you helps, too.
LH, find some U where you can wear shorts and polo shirts like we do at CPSLO.
Re: Why I Own The World
8 years in the workforce and this past week has been the best and most accomplished -
Monday: All the technical drawings completed and turned in for regulatory reviewl for a project thats been knocked around for 4 years by other engineers who couldn't/wouldn't get it going
Tuesday: $21 Million dollar project stamped-approved by our regulatory body, which was iffy to begin with since we went into review with little wiggle room for questions about material characteristics. Took me 14 months to see through, with no oversight from management or assistance from SR Engineers
Friday: Overseas on-site survey to Italy for later this month ticketed! First international work trip.

Yet another year with no raise. When I say I'm not in it for the money, I mean really, there's no money.

We at Cal Poly are getting a 3% raise this year, after a 3% raise last year. This after 7 years of no raises.
Staff was actually only supposed to get 2%, but since the faculty received a 3% raise and we had a "me too" clause in our contract we were bumped to 3%.
Historically the faculty raises have been higher than staff raises.
I do feel the faculty's pain though, going to school for decades to get their PhD, and CSC bachelor grads come out of Poly getting $90K to start at Google or Apple.

Thanks guys, that was 2 intense months to study and pass. The 7 was 260 questions and 6 hours long. Such a relief to be done.

Cool. It's weird, all around the outside it's doing good but inside it's a ghost town. Maybe when Walmart goes in that will change like over at Chris-town.97cats wrote:i actually just bought the NEC of 35th and Peoria in April and are redeveloping as we speakazgreg wrote:Nice. Re: Why I Own The World
yes the trade area is solid and ripe for re-development.azgreg wrote:97cats wrote: Cool. It's weird, all around the outside it's doing good but inside it's a ghost town. Maybe when Walmart goes in that will change like over at Chris-town.
its interesting, enclosed Malls in the middle to low end income areas have had a rebirth due to the BIG box stores taking over the old dept store anchor spaces.
tenants like Costco, WalMart, Target, and others have taken advantage of almost zero entry cost on rent to occupy.
our firm stays away from malls but loves in-fill core assets that need some polish. environmentally impacted sites with deferred maintenance challenges are our specialty to improve, given that the real estate is strong enough to demand the tenants, which is where we make a ton of hay, through the tenant relationships.
the deal in Long Beach was just a massive home-run.

If we are doing requests, could you help with the Fiesta District? City of Mesa put some money into it, and MCC is helping by buying up a lot of dead space, but there are gaps. Not the Fiesta Mall...I am hearing MCC is taking it. But Longmore/Fiesta Corridor.97cats wrote:i actually just bought the NEC of 35th and Peoria in April and are redeveloping as we speakazgreg wrote:Nice. Think you can do something with Metro Center?
Dobson Ranch is a weird island of nice middle class homes with a lot of original owners, with the rare east valley block built homes with mature vegetation (and mature residents), just a stone's throw from hell. Fiesta Mall/corridor was the city wall that protected Dobson Ranch. But it has been falling apart.

Don't have a new job yet, but in a little bit of ironic good news I did just beat the assfuck who fired me to take my old job's fantasy football title. Going to message the league and say, "Great season guys. Can you send me my winnings ASAP? Obviously I could use the cash since I'm currently out of work and its the holidays..."

Sounds like you're in a real life office space movie. Can you imagine if your Lundberg won the FF title? Thankfully he didn't.

I'm on the Professor Watchlist by Turning Point USA!
I admit that I nominated myself for the honor, and so they might choose to ignore my request, in which case I'll need to ask students on the first day of class to please report me.
Unfortunately, these people are so poorly educated that they're still alphabetizing the names of professors by first name. Just wow.
http://www.professorwatchlist.org/" target="_blankWelcome to Professor Watchlist, a project of Turning Point USA.
This watchlist is an aggregated list of pre-existing news stories that were published by a variety of news organizations. While we accept tips for new additions on our website, we only publish profiles on incidents that have already been reported by a credible source.
TPUSA will continue to fight for free speech and the right for professors to say whatever they wish; however students, parents, and alumni deserve to know the specific incidents and names of professors that advance a radical agenda in lecture halls.
Below are professors currently featured on the watchlist. Check out our full listing to see if any of your professors have made the list.

And then those taste buds start to develop and it all goes to hell. My daughter used to lick the chili off kimchi. Now she won't eat anything that's green, much less anything that tastes other than bland.CalStateTempe wrote:My daughter ate bacon for the first time on this morning and then asked for more by name!
