Why would you want to dress your dog up? Don't you remember the guy who got mauled because he tried to put a sweater on his dog?

Wellp, winter is over in Tucson as of early February again.

For I think the 3rd straight year now temps throughout February are forecasted to be consistently 10-20 degrees above average.

I don't like how winter only seems to last from Thanksgiving to Jan 31 now and then we just hover in the mid to upper 80s from early Feb to Memorial Day.

Was supposed to drive down to San Diego tomorrow after work to see my son.

Decided against it.

An intense winter storm is expected to dump the heaviest rains in 10 to 20 years over Los Angeles and neighboring areas from late Thursday to early Saturday. Flash flooding and mudslides are expected.

This was supposed to be the snowiest winter in years. Meanwhile we've had about 1.5" the last six weeks and doesn't look like there's going to be any the rest of the month. Whoops!

This was supposed to be a dry La Nina year in California, after having a very wet El Nino last year, and a mild but wet El Nino the year before that.

So NWS 0 for 3 here.

60 MPH winds at the beach in SoCal and the storm hasnt even hit here yet. LA looks like a freaking hurricane though.

State highways where I live (northern Santa Barbara county) all closed, 1, 166, 154.

101 still open, although some lanes were closed this morning in central SB county.

This is a typical monsoon for Tucson I know, but us out here aren't used to it.

Looks like I'll but in TUS first week of March. So what's the weather prognostication?

I'll be in South Dakota and Wyoming in mid April too (I don't wanna think about it).

And Calgary and Banff better be on their best behavior by the last 10 days or so of April too by gosh.
