yep. up around lake superior i don't think it's been above 65-70 degrees since probably last september or october. you could probably go into some secluded north facing cove on the coast of lake superior in 4-5 weeks and find a few little grapefruit sized chunks of ice.
i was going to put the ua/asu records here...but i forgot what they were.
Going to an outdoor wedding this Saturday in Tucson. At 11 a.m.
What were they thinking?
It's my wife's nephew, so I tried my best to get out of it. After all, it's her family. Someone needs to stay home and watch the dog, tortoise and rats.

I grew up in MI, and the UP never warmed up. They are very hardy people up there. Not really a serious part of MI, you think they would belong to MN. If I remember my MI history right, the feds gave MI the UP when there was a border dispute between MI and OH, where MI thought the state should go down to Toledo. The feds decided Toledo should be part of OH.
There's this big Summer Giant who breathes hot fire out of his belly. He lives in Arizona. He usually dies in late October, but not without a fight. Right before he goes down, he lets out everything he's got left in him -- something to remember him by -- and it gets really, really hot out, and you say, "Oh, no, I just can't take it anymore." And then he falls dead when the sun goes down and you wake up the next morning and it's cold outside.
