I forgot what public course it was, but when I was a student back in the dark ages you could play all golf you wanted in the summer between noon and 3pm for a buck.

Beryl is the earliest Cat 5 that has ever happened in the Atlantic, beating the old record by two weeks...

Thankfully it came ashore in Texas as a Cat 1. Now it needs to move the fuck along so it doesn’t fill the Houston bathtub.

Beryl did Texas a giant favor by moving the fuck along and not stalling out like Harvey did.

Unfortunately that Beryl bitch has decided to move the fuck along to my house. We’re supposed to get 3-4 inches of rain over the next 36 hours. Should make the creek that runs through my subdivision worthy of monitoring. Luckily I don’t live alongside it.

And when I’m not looking down at the creek rising, I’ll be looking to the sky for funnels…

Now that the fires are out here in my town in New Mexico, we're dealing almost daily flooding. Had 7 inches of rain in the last 2 weeks, most of which was in 2 days (3.5 inches in 4 hours a couple sundays ago). There have been houses washed away and businesses with 2 feet of water in them and the roads in and out of town closed for hours at a time because of the flooding.
i was going to put the ua/asu records here...but i forgot what they were.

i'll just go with fuck asu.

I'm at Ina and Thornydale. This is by FAR the most intense storm I've ever seen in my 38 years of monsoons. I e gotten 1.24 inches of rain in a half our at my house and golf ball sized hail. Almost all of my neighbor's mesquite trees have blown over into my yard. By some miracle they missed my shed, detached office, pool fence and possibly the main brick fence itself. Somehow we still have power too. We've been huddled with the kids in the center of the house on the floor. My garden and some furniture is trahs I think

I walked early this PM and watched two intense storm walls track around me from the East and the South. It was fucking wild. At one point a water dump in the South opened up so violently it looked like a funnel cloud.

Same here. Can't post photos that don't have an html address.

My Dad who live off Ina Rd messaged me a photo of his front yard this morning. The big mesquite, 30ft tall mesquite was blown over. Mistletoe was living in it for several years and eventually weakened the root strength.

It was the one behind the Jeep. It had lost a few arms this year, so it was probably just time for it to come down.

I know everyone has heard of Lake Effect Snow, but right now we are experiencing a Lake Effect Rain Plume (same concept, different season - cold air flowing over warm water) and there are waterspouts out over Lake Michigan.

It’s such a narrow band that it’s pouring at my house but sunny 10 miles east or west of me and we just got a warning that some of the spouts may be strong enough to survive landfall and continue inland as tornadoes.

Living downwind of a huge body of fresh water is wild.

Yesterday we had a 30 minute cloudburst that dumped more water than any Arizona storm I've ever witnessed. The wash behind our house filled higher and faster than ever. Not much wind, but the sheer volume of fluid beat vegetation out of tree crowns all over the community. Lots of cleanup going on today.

Hurricane Helene going to hit the Big Bend area of Florida. It is forecasted to be a Cat 4 or Cat 5 hurricane, with a storm surge of 15-20 feet. This is a serious hurricane. Right now it will hit close to Apalachicola and Tallahassee.
