Provides weight for the back of real wheel drive vehicles and can be spread under tires that are slipping on ice.

Also, if you put some in a sock it will prevent your windows from fogging up.

You put it in your car to remove moisture.

Reminds of my family when they were living in Poughkeepsie NY and carried around lighters to warm their keys when the door locks would freeze.

Some real lack of snow/ice/cold knowledge in this thread. Reminds me of when I moved to the midwest. It took me about a decade to understand that just any boots aren't the same as snow boots, and that the kind of winter coat you need isn't the same as the jacket you wear on a January night in Arizona or California.

The cat litter comes in handy when you get stuck and spend a week trying to walk out to civilization to find a tow truck. The cat in your car has a place to shit while you're gone.

Truly you guys are a hoot. We used cases of beer for ballast. Flatlanders use kitty litter or maybe stacks of Martha Stewart's Living. I learned to drive in a '64 International 3/4 ton and the whole fucking point of driving in the winter was to try to get stuck for fuck's sake! If you didn't get stuck you didn't have to put on chains. If you didn't have to lie in the snow and put on the chains you didn't get to drink the goddamned whiskey. If you didn't get to drink the whiskey there wasn't much of a point, was there? Because who gets drunk on beer?

City trucks were also being prepared to spread salt or sand at major intersections and roads if needed, the city said in a news release Friday evening.

Although being prepared to do it for saturday seems a bit late to me

yeah I meant it seemd a bit late since it doesnt mention being done for friday, the day when all the snow happened

not that it wouldn't also be needed on saturday morning as well

I was stranded in Prescott from Wednesday through Saturday night during this "lackluster" storm of the century, and I could go pretty much wherever I wanted on the Thursday and Friday blizzards that ensued. It was like I was just floating over the drifts and slush. Amazing tires.

They said 42" at the Ski Valley as of Sat morning and of course they fought with Pima County Roads all weekend to get opened Sunday or Monday. Finally opened at 3PM Monday so today they finally opened. Probably a solid week left of skiing
