It's just never going to cool down. Still forecasted to be 95-100 the next 2 weeks. As someone who has lived in the desert my entire life this summer has been the most brutal and relentless I have ever seen.

And you just bought a property that has what kind of carbon footprint? Water consumption?

Still forecasted to be 100 or so throughout the weekend. Might be able to get to near normal temps for the first time in a week or 2. Definitely sucks for you though with no one having ac.

It was high 80s low 90s in the central coast over the last week or so. Going to be in the 60's by Sunday.

Currently wearing a hoodie for the first time since I can remember, UA of course.

Thought I saw 167, although that might have been days of 95+

I saw it hit the 144th day on the 14th and according to the data I looked at one more time on the 16th or 17th. So yes probably 145 total.

Yesterday when I walked the dog at 8am it was 55 degrees.

By the time the afternoon rolled around it had gotten up to 80.

When I walked the dog at 8am this morning it was 70.

I just went to walk the dog at 2:30pm and it's 40 degrees after raining all morning.

Goodbye warm front, hello cold front.

Was 90 in Tucson on Saturday, on Tuesday it's only 54 degrees at noon and it was only a couple degrees above freezing this morning. Will be nearly 90 again in a couple days. At least we get like 3 days of winter.

We had some 50mph winds out of the northwest the other day which piled up the lake on our shore and drove some 15-20ft waves. This video is from a lighthouse right over the border in Michigan.

Most of the state is now in an exceptional drought and likely will be 100% in an exceptional drought by January. This highest level of drought means even native plants like cacti are at risk of dying off and there's an increased risk of year round wildfires. Unfortunately, with La Niña, it is expected to be a very warm and dry winter and spring. The whole state will burn next summer.

Climatologists who predicted a La Nina condition were correct. Very warm and dry.

Literally out of nowhere we are getting a White Christmas. Lake effect snow unexpectedly shifted west right over us and even though the forecast was for partly cloudy skies, we have an inch on the ground and could see an inch or two more.

I know that for many of you who grew up in Arizona you’re wondering what the big deal is, but the prospect of my kids waking up on Christmas morning to a blanket of snow fills my heart with an indescribable joy.

At least something in this crazy fucking year went right.

My parents had a place up in northern Arizona for 20 years and I got to experience a white Christmas a few times as a kid. Pretty rare for an Arizona kid born and raised. But it definitely was something special. Here's to one happy thing this year J! Cheers.

I recall 15 or 20 years ago Tucson was the only city in the CONUS with a white Christmas.

Well some unexpected rain in Tucson this morning is close enough to a white Christmas for us. Some freezing rain on Mt Lemmon is close too I guess.

Glad to hear Chi. We had a white Christmas here in CT up until this morning when we got a ton of rain and it’s 60 degrees. It’s now a soggy Christmas.
Ugh.

Can’t tell you the joy this filled me with. We were the only part of the Chicago area to get snow. My in-laws who live ten minutes south only got a dusting. My own little Christmas Miracle.

That's fantastic, and how great for the kids.

My daughter in eastern NC was really hoping for a white Christmas from this storm for her kids, but all she got was cold.

84 at my northern Santa Barbara county house now. It was 88 yesterday.

But only one rain storm the whole winter, which is our only rainy season.

Thought we'd get a ton of rain finally yesterday and today but still not a drop at my house. It's all further east. We need the rain so badly but as usual the forecast compared to reality is underwhelming.

Yeah, there will be tragedy somewhere in Northern AZ tonight. People who despise the aspects of society made possible through taxation have little regard for first responders on nights like the coming one. It's really gonna suck tonight.
