*sigh* This is not a random thing but my wireless internet provider (Clear) is going dark at the end of the day and it will be a week or so before I likely post here again. I might log on via my phone (I really hate verch keyboards though. . .) but unlikely so I will be on a internet vacation for a bit. Might take the time to try that NaNoWriMo thing out. . . or go bugfuck insane from withdrawl. Whichever. See you on the flipside!

You gotta love how they used to roll with the fake wood paneling on electronics. It's like, "Oooo. Look at this fine craftsmanship. Is it an antique made by the Amish? Pretty cool today. My dept. head came through with checks like he does every Friday, but today he was trailed by the shop manager and the company CEO. They all extended their hands and wished everybody a happy Thanksgiving. The CEO then handed out Happy Thanksgiving cards that had a $35 gift card for the grocery store along with a little hand written note. That was a nice touch. We're not a big company, but a hand written note in about 100 cards is damn nice.

I was actually curious about this and I found out that hot dogs are about a 1/10th of a pound, so they come in 1 lb. packages.

Doesn't explain why the corporate bakeries haven't caught on to this yet though...

What industry? Only people who get tested where I work at are the transportation mechanics, since they need a commercial drivers license.

I have a couple of brothers who work in defense (Raytheon) and they are not allowed to smoke weed, even with a medical card. Don't know if they do random screenings or not.

Most companies only do a screening if there is an injury in the work place or in a company vehicle etc and it needs to be determined if you were under the influence (still debatable with weed anyway) or if they have reason to believe you are showing up to work intoxicated.

We build parts for the aerospace industry. Our biggest customer is Honeywell.

Bob was sitting on the plane waiting to fly to Chicago , when a guy took the seat beside him. The guy was an emotional wreck, pale, hands shaking in fear.

"What's the matter, afraid of flying?" Bob asked.

"No, it's not that. I've been transferred to Chicago . The people are crazy there, right? Lots of shootings, gangs, race riots, drugs, poor schools, and the highest crime rate in the nation."

Bob replied, "I've lived in Chicago all my life. It's not as bad as the media says. Find a nice home, go to work, mind your own business, and enroll your kids in a nice private school. I've worked there for 14 years and never had the slightest trouble."

The guy relaxed and stopped shaking and said, "Oh, thank you. I've been worried to death, but if you've lived and worked there all those years and say it's OK, I'll take your word for it. What do you do for a living?"
