Who has Padron Peppers? I’ve seen Shishoto, but not Padron locally.

Redux. Amazing meal. This time made with refried beans from home-rendered pork lard and heirloom beans grown in northern Mexico, via Rancho Gordo.

All this food porn. I gotta go spank it.

My wife has been making egg McMuffins from scratch. Drop biscuits and sausage with eggs over medium. We usually don't eat much of anything for bfast since I quit work, but being quasi-shut in makes it irresistible.

I never understand "drinking my dinner." If I'm drinking, why not include a cheeseburger or three?

You are exactly right, and I should've known because that's my precise order.

I’ve been using Kenji’s Egg McMuffin recipe. I just do an over hard egg to make it easier. CBacon some days, or a smashed sausage patty others.

Wrapping them in foil for a few minutes deals the deal.

What the hell. You can’t possibly create that from shopping at the same place I do. Check that . . . I can’t possibly create that from shopping where I do. Or anyplace, really. Some people are just born talented; or maybe you work for it. Or maybe it’s Maybelline.

Wife made fresh sweet yeast bread/rolls. Having an elementary school lunch for dinner.

Cheap salami with cheddar, mayo, yellow mustard, and iceberg sandwiches. Cheeto puffs and a sliced apple. Delicious.

Too much bourbon and lost track of time?

Tonight I pulled out a container of leftover chile verde sauce I made for pork a while back and simmered it with some black beans and served it with rice and some like and queso fresco. Random but delicious.

Not dinner but shelter in place has allowed me to reconnect with some of my childhood favorites:

Rice Krispie treats is an underrated snack/desert.

Cheese crisps are a great lunch.

There is nothing better than homemade popcorn with just a sprinkle of salt. Why did I ever buy bagged popcorn?
