I remember that. That's historical. In Tropic of Cancer (or Tropic of Capricorn, I can't remember which), the narrator refers to this one time back in New York when he ordered "a hamburger sandwich with lots of onions."

It went from hamburger sandwich... to hamburger sandwich with cheese... to hamburger and cheeseburger, whereby the latter somehow freed "burger" to stand on its own as an entire category separate from sandwiches. Hence the title of this thread. I say, I'm a burgher, too. Aren't you? I feel a musical coming on....

Graze Premium Burgers opens at 11 a.m. today at 2721 E. Speedway, in the former home of fro-yo purveyor BTO By Choice.

Graze is owned by Paolo DeFilippis, and Jeff and Fran Katz — the folks behind the healthful-leaning Choice Greens chopped salads and sandwiches shops.

Graze’s burgers are made from antibiotic- and hormone-free Niman Ranch beef and there is a grass-fed beef option on the menu. Kennebec potatoes — the taters of choice for finer restaurants nationwide — are hand-cut Belgian-style and double fried. They also serve free-range chicken, organic sugar cane sodas and organic soft serve.

Graze is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays and from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. Follow them on Facebook.

I've seen that one a couple of times. It is indeed somewhat troubling to watch that big fella cook that massive burger - makes your chest tight and your left arm hurt.

I may continue to circle the drain at the Chinese buffet tonight with my kid, but I guess that should go in the dinner thread. Good for you with the salad and taking a shot at fish tacos. Don't let me pull you down with me . . .

A New Mexico fast-food staple is slated to open its first location in Tucson by late summer.

Blake’s Lotaburger will take over the former Arby’s at 2810 E. Speedway.

Blake’s has been around since founder Blake Chanslor opened his first hamburger stand in Albuquerque in 1952.

Today, it has 77 locations, throughout New Mexico and in El Paso.

In 2006, National Geographic recognized the chain for having the best green chile cheeseburger in the world.

2810 E. Speedway will be its only Arizona location.

Shake Shack is finally opening a store in Arizona
East Coast burger giant Shake Shack is expanding this side of the Mississippi River.

The New York City-born chain plans to open its first store in Arizona at Scottsdale Fashion Square in 2016. It'll take over the front half of the former Modern Steak restaurant, including the outdoor patio.

There are two other locations in the West: at the New York-New York Hotel in Las Vegas and in Austin.

It's so wrong that ASU students can get that fix, daily, and the rest of Arizona can't. Deeply wrong.

Most of those aren't some "secret menu". They're just the result of unhealthy people ordering two or three things and then smashing them together before inserting the monstrosity into their disgusting gob.

Haven't had one since the early 80s in high school that I can remember. They were pretty damn good though with an actual char-grilled flavor. Don't know if they've changed in 30 years . . .

They're not THAT good, though. In that bracket Checkers (aka Rally's out here) would topple them in the second round.

Steak 'n Shake and Bob's Big Boy would also make my Final Four against In-N-Out and Five Guys.

Similar here. Haven't been to Whataburger since the early 80s after hitting up the Bum Steer and Wildcat House. None around where I have lived since.

I do like Habit and In'N-Out since I can get grilled onions.

Yea. The only people who love Whataburger are those from Texas, and then only because they had generations of people telling them how great Whataburger is. I think it sucks compared to the alternatives and I live here where it is all over the friggin place. It's the equivalent of McD.

I've eaten at Five Guys numerous times. I've yet to be impressed.

My Final 4: In-N-Out, Culvers, Bob's Big Boy, Rally's.

Though I'd take a Freddie's over the last two. Not sure it counts since not actual hamburger, but rather shaved steak. Steamies is good, too.

Never had most of the East Coast, but Friendly's sucked.

Whataburger is pretty good, definitely not the best though. Their A1 burger and the green chile are pretty damn good, but only a once in a while type thing for me. Five Guys is hit and miss. Sometimes it is outstanding, other days its ehh. In N Out was the greatest ever til it came to Arizona. The novelty wore off, but when it was an only when you are in California thing I would have probably had it number 1.

Final four in no order: Culver's, Fuddruckers, Big Boy, and Red Robin (why the hell isnt it in that bracket?). Red Robin is the best overall for me. I was eating there twice a week for months during my wife's first pregnancy, was very thankful for that particular pregnancy craving.

Not to mention that if you go there with no prior knowledge of how to order, you end up getting a giant inedible raw onion on your burger that will ruin your social life for the rest of the week.

If this was a "Best Fast Food Burger in New Mexico" I'd be inclined to agree with your disqualification.

In the other 49 states the presence (or lack thereof) of green chilies is not a deal-breaker for most people.
