Pisses me off that here in San Antonio so close to the Gulf I have to weed out shrimp sourced from Vietnam raised in their own shit and toxic waste! Even in Corpus Christie tons of restaurants try to sell Sysco seafood from the other side of the world. And with the other comments about high sodium in asian food, this really chaps my ass, too. I used to enjoy PFChang's eggplant dish until I read the sodium specs on it. Was having severe stomach cramps last night and blacked out from the pain, ended up not hitting a median crossed into other lane and didn't hit anybody and ended up hitting a tree. I have no idea how I was able to walk away with a bumb on my head and a soar wrist. Luckily my car was not totaled either. I don't know why or how but I'm grateful to be alive and ok, but man I don't feel like i deserve this... fucking wierd ass emotions today and didn't know where to post.

Lando,
I'm really glad everything is alright.
How are you feeling today? If same, consider getting checked out tomorrow. Lots of things can cause syncope (blacking out), and you just want to make sure that this was a self limiting sort of thing.
Take care of yourself as you recoup.
Cheers,

Have you thought about going to Urgent Care today? The severe GI issue, loss of consciousness and bump on the head may warrant a trip.

I got checked out by paramedics and was cleared thank goodness. I just ate and woke up from a nap. Feeling a lot better. I have IBS and sometimes the pain gets so bad i faint. That's what happened, only ever in a bathroom a handful of times. My dad has it too, he's fainted as well. I just shouldn't have driven when I'm having those types of cramps. Really lucky and grateful to be alive. Thank you all for the kinds words.

Why the fuck do people spread out in the airport gate waiting area like they're at home or some other dirty place? There are honestly 12 people taking up an area built for 30+ at gate B8 in LaGuardia right now. I asked a woman who had bags on either side of her if I could sit and she just looked at me like I came into her house and shit on her rug.
I sat down anyway. Because fuck her. She doesn't need 3 fucking seats.

Don't blame you at all. Hard to think of place worse than airports (especially the overcrowded JFKs, LaGuardias, O'Hares, LAXs) for basic human interaction. Good to know, thanks for the pro tip chi. I'm 3years into this parenting thing. I figure it was either this girl my daughter likes or her dad, since he showered in our spare before going to see drop kick Murphy's.
Just really shocked when I went into the spare to #1, turned to flush and noticed the #2.

My money is definitely on the kid. Flushing is hardwired into adults. Hard to forget something you've done four times a day every day since you were a toddler.

A segment of the populace deposits floaters, and a portion of their demographic doesn't confirm a successful flush.

One team of scientists recently observed that the average floater takes more than a day to absorb enough toilet water to sink. So I'd guess you indeed have a case of either a guest unfamiliar with plumbing, or a turd exhibitionist.CalStateTempe wrote:Can floaters sink? With time? Re: Venting Thread
Some times I want to tell her to stop parenting....she already had her chance. Well meaning yes, but in inaccurate IMO on her assesssment of certain situations and approach.
Yes I married her daughter, but there are traits in her, that I will do my best to prevent my children from acquiring if only because I believe they originated from parenting areas that I feel my mother inlaw is weaker in (discipline, coddles way way to much). Let them develop their own idiosyncrasies from my failed parenting, lol.
I want my daughters to be smart, resilient, and self confident. And I don't like being given advice on parenting that is contrary to that goal.

Wealthy air force retirees are the most arrogant, selfish, bigoted, self-important pricks I come across these days. Good for you for checking identification at a base gate for 20 years and having all your bills paid by the government. You don't deserve people kissing your feet and praying over the ground you walk on. Dicks.
Re: Venting Thread
The circulation in my office sucks so I have a little desk top fan that does the trick. It quit today. On the way home the cable on the left rear window regulator breaks and the window drops into the door. I get home and my wife says the garbage disposal is leaking. I take a look at it and sure as shit it's leaking out the bottom. Then.....my son gets me and takes me into his room so he can show me his smoking PC monitor.

I just replaced a leaking disposal Sunday night if you need any tips. I've done a bunch of window regulators as well, and I'm mechanically challenged.

I got a letter from FEMA today saying that if I don't get a certificate of elevation for my house that I'll have my flood insurance premiums raised 25% every year for eternity. This is 2 years after my insurance premium was doubled for no known reason. I live at goddamn 2400 feet in elevation in the desert city of Tucson a mile from the nearest dry riverbed that hasnt come close to flooding in 35 years yet the gubmint has declared where I live to be an area of "extreme risk to severe flooding". So I have to have my mortgage payment be about 1/3 more expensive than it should be.
