Day 4 for people without power in Spokane. And it's headed into the 20s tonight. Fortunately, I live in a neighborhood where the power lines are buried. School canceled last three days.

80 is too hot when you're out in the sun. Sunny and 60-65 is best.

Any time I can wear my jorts, tank top, and sandals, that is ideal, in or out. 65 I am wearing jeans and a UA hoodie.

For me 45 and sunny is the perfectly comfortable temperature where I'm neither hot nor cold inside or outside. But I still prefer the exhileration of the 0-20 range while wearing winter gear.

Temperatures in the 60s would be fine if women didn't make interiors uncomfortably heated, and it's hard for me without the drafts to compensate.

By the time temperatures are up around 80, I'm just in constant heat management mode and suffering "hot attacks" where the sweat starts pulsating and cascading down my face, builds its own momentum, and won't stop. "Is he okay?" people ask. Get me to the comfort of a refrigerated hotel or airport.

By the time it's 90 or above, I'm fine again because it's understood and agreed by all that life moves from refrigerated cars to refrigerated interiors, so I'm basically always comfortable.

We've got a big windstorm coming. Second one in three weeks. First one knocked out power for most of the city, and hundreds of big pines came crashing down, including one in my back yard. Still have three large spruce in striking distance of the house, and the winds are picking up. The gusts will peak tomorrow, while I'm at work.

Freakish weather. Record rain yesterday. Record high for the date today. Tomorrow, the big blow.

Then I'll drive home, cross fingers and hope a tree hasn't crashed into the house or smashed the deck or fence. Complete feeling of helplessness. Random selection.

If --- big if -- all is good and the power is on, I will then watch the Arizona game. Bearing down on stout trees and stouter defense.

So warm here it's foggy every day. Still not cool enough for me to break out a jacket in the day time. I want to wear my winter parka and snow boots and trapper hat but this is October weather.

Driving around central and northern Illinois with the air conditioner on because it's too hot in the sun on December 9. The grass has grown so much that I have to refill the oil in my lawn mower that I'd dumped out for the season, and go mow the lawn.
