MEDs

Post by JMarkJohns »

doxycycline fucking sucks...

Apparently I've built an immunity to amoxicillin and need a new antibiotic to fight my sinus/allergy issues.

Last three days, within an hour of taking this I'm vomiting, gut-wrenching dryheaving, and at random through the day as well.

Just finished the cycle so hopefully I'm out of the woods, but my upper body is so freaking sore from the heaves.

Told my doc. We'll see. Might just be that it's new. Might be my body is intolerant to it.

i've been down and out for the last 13 days with some sort of viral something or other. doctor never did say what I had. some sort of cold that morphed into sinusitis/bronchitis. been miserable and missed a couple of days of work. today is the first day I feel somewhat normal.

About two weeks back I had a sinus infection that settled behind my ears, causing me to be dizzy and altogether miserable. We tried a bout of amoxicillin and it returned, so this. Sinus issues feel better, but my entire upper body feels like a boulder has been dropped on me from the soreness from the guttural heaves. Like exorcist level wrenching...

New meds are tricky.

Thankfully I can get work done from home. I'm just not going all Linda Blair at work :o

Try the monohydrate form as well as taking it with food or milk. Doxy can be rough on the GI system though for some.

So Rondae basically breaks his knee in half and he is back playing in a few minutes....
Stanley has his eyeball ripped out and just pops it back into place....

And you are complaining about a couple sniffles?

Did you not read? I'm digging dip! I'm gutting things out. I'm leaving it all, including everything I've eaten, on the field! Is that not good enough for ya?! Are you not entertained! Shit! I wrote the blog piece the first morning I felt ill! Plus I made a Big Lebowski and 40-YO Virgin joke today! And made an insightful post on the brotherly relationship in Better Call Saul! I'm giving yall everything I got!

And I am feeling better. Fingers crossed now that the mess are done I'll be back to normal. Well, as normal as I typically am, anyways!

I have definitely been taking it with food. I know this because 30 minutes after eating we are reunited.

I was told not to take it with dairy. Hmm...

Dairy can reduce the amount absorbed into the body... somewhere around 10-15%, but it is better than puking it up and having negligible amounts absorbed resulting in your infection lingering.

For the first time in a week I had a tall glass of milk. Granted, it's the end of the cycle, but I feel pretty decent. I do think the meds did their job. I feel good as far as the sinus infection goes. Mostly now still a mild stomach knot and the soreness in the upper body from heaving about 100 times in the last 55-60 hours. Again, not always with results, but lots of 3/4/5 at a time dry heaves.

I can't sneeze, cough, hiccup, or breath deeply without my whole chest area feeling like the day after a boxing match.
