He said the models are showing 8+ inches for Tucson and said if that happens, it will be catastrophic.

5+ inches would mean the city would shut down. The rivers would probably overflow their banks. For a day or so the majority of roads in town would be impassable.

The streetcar is going to save thousands of lives and the city council will have a parade for it. :D

There won't be much wind but they are reporting a lot of rain. I wonder if they will cancel schools for Wednesday. They cancelled high school football last year.

It is higher ground haha. But yeah, good luck to anyone that has to cross the Santa Cruz or Rillito getting to work the next couple of days. My guess is at least one bridge will get washed out.

Just worried about the wind as I read one report saying 50mph gusts. I can handle the rain. even lots of rain. It's not ideal, but I can handle it. The wind driven rain really fucks up my house cause it's old and needs things I can't pay for

Hopefully I don't lose a wall (perimeter wall, around yard) though, at least two people in my neighborhood had a wall wash out/fall down in the last downpour.

Catastrophic flooding usually isn't a good forecast. This isn't exactly a city prepared to handle a lot of precipitation. Getting kinda worried

Good luck, fellas. Looks brutal. I remember the big flood of 83 (I think). Water on both sides of I-10 as I was moving to Mesa. Gila River Bridge washed out. This looks worse.

I mean, it's not something I've ever really given much thought to buying (well, not when living in Tucson), except that...

Exactly this. "Catastrophic flooding" as a forecast kinda makes one think about buying sandbags.

'83 was a 3-4 day storm and we had almost the same amount of rain Monday as they did back then. They are saying this will be worse. The ground hasn't even had time to dry so It could be REALLY bad. Hopefully people stay off the roads entirely

2 inches we could easily handle especially if its spread out over a day or two. I just get worried when it gets above like 4.
