Yep, so he has zero leverage, pedigree, or independence.

This might not work out great.
Of the 12 coaches, Rush picked the one whose fans have the deepest passion, the longest memories, the greatest lung capacity and … did I mention deep passion?

I told my son in law yesterday that he should have got the job based on the fact that at least he has coached a youth league team.

Just another reason to not watch the NBA. Haven’t watched a game in years

LeBron loves nothing more than having a coach he can tell what to do, which is obviously why he wants JJ.
The Lakers hiring Redick makes no sense and seems more about hype. Then yesterday my buddy told me Redick and James are "podcast buddies." Makes more sense when you consider it with what kind of coach Lebron prefers.

Redick is the same age as LeBron. Maybe they will have him suit up. But looking it up, the CBA no longer allows player coaches.

I can't imagine LeBron being around in 4 years. I guess they do have to draft Bronny now.

Believe he has the same coaching experience Kerr had before his 1st NBA coaching job.

Steve Kerr also previously had front office experience as a GM, so I would say they are not comparable.

Jason Kidd had no coaching experience when he took over as head coach of the Nets. Derek Fisher also with the Knicks

Well, Derek Fisher was a terrible coach, and Jason Kidd has been extremely mediocre as a coach so far (yes I know he made the finals this year just talking overall)

Glad to see it, but thought the Celtics drafting Bronny would have been pretty funny. Don't recall a less talented player being drafted so high, but maybe in 4-5 years he will be good, assuming he is still in the NBA.

He’s arguably more talented than Michael Olowokandi and that dude went #1 overall.

There’s a gargantuan amount of nepotism in professional sports (especially in front offices) and all second rounders are essentially toss-ups anyway…

Is it really so bad that they want to keep the greatest player ever happy and to offer him an incredibly unique opportunity?

I do love getting Knecht in the first round. Lakers needed a shooter badly.

Sure you can keep him happy, but are the Lakers actually gonna do anything next season?

My guess is no.

They weren’t going to no matter who they drafted. They lucked out with Knecht but it ain’t their year.

Well then my argument is who cares about keeping LeBron happy then? He'll be gone in a couple years anyways.

Pella got a 3 year, $5.4 million deal so not that far off. Obviously, Bronny would have never gotten this deal without his dad though

Are Pelle's 3 years guaranteed? Because Bronny's are!

Edit: Only his 1st year is fully guaranteed, for less money, than someone drafted 11 spots lower.

Yes, he was the 2nd 2nd rounder to sign a guaranteed contract.

2nd 2nd. Not sure if I have ever typed that ever.

Larsson, who was born in Sweden, reportedly agreed to sign a three-year, $5.4 million contract, according to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype. The contract is fully guaranteed in the first year and has a significant guarantee in the second year. The team has an option in the last year.

Did you think the Lakers were going to pick Bronny and not take care of him? LeBron is going to make $104 million for 2 years. What's a couple of million more per year for his kid to play?

My man has that entire organization by the short and curlies, their front office is really betting the farm on him winning it all with the same exact team as last year.

Like I mentioned earlier, reminds me of Kobe's final year. Don't care about winning, just let the star do what he wants. No fucks given.

For $2M a year, they could have picked up a lot of good players.
