To liberally paraphrase Shakespeare, a Rose in any other season is still and injured player.

Well, Flores didn't seem scared when he went on the "Sedano and Stink" radio show last night -- and responded to Swaggy's cyber-tough talk.
"If you look at his numbers, there is a 70% chance that -- if he takes a shot at me -- he's going to miss. I'm just looking at the numbers ... so I'm good."

Then they can kiss Durant goodbye.

It always cracks me up just how off a preseason expectation can be.

Clip called Rockets and Hawks.

It be very interesting to see how good a team like Dallas would be now had they not traded for Rondo. They looked great early. What's funny is had they not acquired Rondo, he may have gone to Rockets, which likely kills their chemistry.

Hilarious how the long season works out. Trades, injuries, chemistry.

Everyone loves to pick the favorites, but they hardly ever look at teams that were injury plagued or have been building something over the years.

I had high confidence in the Hawks heading into this season, but I did not expect them to run away with the conference. Absolutely love watching the Hawks and they have the chance to be scary the next few years if they can add the right pieces. They have the Nets pick this year and with an expanding cap, should be able to lock up Millsap.

Regarding the Rockets, I am very surprised they were able to play so well without Dwight.

Surprised there has not been more talk about what arguably had to be the best first tound series ever, Clips and Spurs.

Average score was SA 103.4, Clips 103. That game 7 was unreal. Duncan at 39 going for 27 and 11 and Chris Paul coming back like Willis Reed and sinking alast second shot. Duncan hitting 2 free throws in a hostile arena that just defined his clutchness.

Clips have to be oozing confidence and Grifffn is playing possessed. Not abig fan of the NBA but that series was an all timer

It's a shame that wasn't at least a second round matchup.

I will vomit if Houston wins this series, sorry Jason Terry and Nick Johnson. They seem like such an unlikeable team between Harden, Howard, Josh Smith...

Honestly dont see a way, barring CP3 being out for the entire series, the Rockets advance.

They seem to lose focus easily, lack energy unless Harden is going and needed 64 free throws attempts (2 off the all-time NBA playoff record) to win Game 2.

The Clippers offense was stagnant in the second half, but the Rockets defense picked up. Rockets cant defend Griffin, but who can? Harden is having a difficult time drawing fouls against J.J. Redick. Redick does a great job of pulling his arms back and putting them straight up when Harden drives. He cant create his awful contact if your arms arent in the vicinity.

I think Paul comes back for Game 3 and the Clippers win. Rockets were picking on Austin Rivers being stuck in the weakside corner on those Harden/Dwight pick and rolls. He had to dig down on Dwight, but was afraid to leave Terry open in the corner. That will not be an issue with Paul on the floor.

I just dont think the Rockets can win 3 more games this series. They nearly gave up again last night (like they did in Game 1). It took a ton of iso ball from Crawford and Joey Crawford's whistle for them to win the game. Even then, the Clippers were within 4 points with the ball and a minute to go.

Clippers in 6.

More of the same for the Rockets... Harden not getting his lame calls, Redick doing a masterful job defensively on him (again) and they quit in the 3rd quarter.

Josh Smith showing everyone, on a national stage, why Stan Van Gundy used the stretch provision and waived his ass. Played 29 minutes in Game 1, 30 in Game 2 and 3 combined.

Clippers are leaving him to load up on Harden's drives. Hes content sitting in the corner jacking 3s, like usual.

Wow! This playoff season has been fantastic. Buzzer beaters, big comebacks. There is a lot of talent on a lot of teams. This has been fun to watch.

I have no idea who is going to win this thing. I don't see any clear favorite. In the second round, all the series were at 1-1. Two buzzer beaters on acrobatic 3-point bank shots from the top of the key for the winner. I think Golden State will win but nothing would surprise me.

Golden State/Memphis. Another great game. Another game where a team came from behind. Another crucial bank shot from the top of the key (just missed a 3). Some really intense basketball. And another game going down to the wire. I watch very little pro basketball during the season but love the playoffs.

All 4 higher seeds are down 2-1 and still have to win a game on the road. Has this ever happened before?

I never understood that trade in the first place.

Paul I understood. But Howard is not good effensively, and had a history of checking out, which would never fly with Kobe, and Howard is a Beta who thinks he's an Alpha who becomes withdrawn, solemn when chided.

It was always a bad mix, even had Jackson been brought back. Factor in the injury, and the Lakers definitely dodged the bullet by him going elsewhere.

Saw this on Twitter and thought it interesting enough to pass on. Kobe is an easy call, but didn't know so much about Duncan, Shaq and Ginobli.

I've always thought this, with the lack of a real offensive skill set aside from rebounding. Never liked him, or his spoiled brat persona.

It's probably slightly ahead of college basketball right now though. It's just not in great shape on any level.

I'd hate to see Anthony Davis get stuck with Thibs for the next five years. Hopefully Gentry gets a shot there

nba is far better now than it was in the 1995-2010 era of mcgrady/iverson/vince carter/kobe and all that iso and no defense. still has issues but attendance is skyrocketing and it's a better product than that era for sure.
