Yeah. That was a lazy haul. Would have liked to see Cleveland in a few weeks after desperation sets in, then leverage their increased interest against the Bucks for Brogdon/1st.

Oh well.

I still think Monroe will hold value in the offseason. Maybe at Trade Deadline.

Monroe was virtually untradeable last season (mainly because everyone knew he would pick up his option). He played well, but I think the most you can hope for is a 2nd. Seems as though the Suns dont want to take on long-term money, or Denver would have been the destination for Bledsoe.

Either way, not a good deal, IMO.

The Bucks are only getting better. That pick will probably be in 2020 and around 22-26.

They couldn't get Maker or Brogdon, who are both young pieces that could actually help. They would have done better if they could flip Chriss into Maker along the current deal. This, they got an expiring and a low first a few years down the road unless Giannis has a season ending injury.

Why the hell make that trade at this time for that haul? The Monroe portion is meaningless as it's cap space next year, but wtf with the insane protections for the 1st round pick? Why agree to that when the trade deadline is MONTHS away?

Because they figured the longer Bledsoe sat, the more his value would decline? That's all I can think of.

If they werent willing to take on any long-term salary, the market is thin. You cant keep paying Bledsoe to sit at home until the deadline, as the only way the market improves is them changing their stance or potentially an injury to someone's starting PG.

That is why their organization sucks. To not move him in likely the most open market of all time this offseason, then have a season ending blowup 2 games in...?

Either it was percolating for a while and they should have cut ties before his value flatlined or it was a flareup that was not incoming and they should have managed much better. There's nothing in between.

I’m genuinely intrigued by Payton’s addition. He’s young enough to be something almost special with this group. If Jackson, Bender keep asserting themselves, with Booker and Warren, and throw in a top-5 pick, and you really have something.

Then use CAP space and 1sts in 2019 bring in last piece to really try and make a go of this.

It's really gonna suck to get 4th this year. Any other team where you have a guy that played locally in the same state as a team that has a high pick in the draft (Ayton) or a kid that was born and grew up here (Bagley) it would be a sure thing the NBA would hook them up with the 1st pick but you know it's gonna dick us when it comes to the lotto and hook up a team like Cleveland. I'm not looking forward to pretending to like Jaren Jackson Jr

Jaren Jackson Jr is basically what you hope Bender turns into. I think JJJ is better already, and would be a good fit.

Eh, there are at least 5 guys with huge upsides. Bamba, Jackson, Bagley and Doncic are nice consolation prizes for Ayton. Even deeper, I like Sexton and you have a big talent like Porter Jr at the back end of the lottery.

Suns really really need a Bucks loss against the 76ers, a Heat win against the Raptors, and the Wizards to beat both the Celtics and the Magic to have the best odds for the Bucks pick to convey this year, which would give them two mid 1st round picks as trade chips. Thankfully for the Suns the 76ers have something to play for, the Raptors/Celtics don't, and the Magic suck.

If I were the Suns, I'd prep to stand pat up top. You know you're getting at worst a 3rd choice of the top 4 bigs. Pray for luck and Ayton, but the worst case is still a very high upside guy.

Try to convert those picks, maybe even adding someone in, into Sexton. I'm a big Sexton fan and that would give the Suns Jackson and Booker on the wing, Sexton running point and your new big down low.

Then start turning the random pieces into the rotation to fill out that young core. That's a really solid group of young guys to build off of, and you have to think they could add a few pieces to complement while the development stage is ongoing.

You may have lost the coin flip, but this would be hitting the freaking jackpot. Im a huuuuge fan.

I really, really, wanted Dennis Lindsey and Bud to take over the Clippers before they hired Doc. Getting Bud alone in Phoenix would be massive. Also means the rebuilding and tanking is done.

Assuming McDonough is willing to get his type of players, this is the best the Suns could possibly do, IMO. I have no idea why he McDonough wouldnt agree to get guys Bud wants, but its worth noting. Im talking versatile guys who have a high IQ, are willing passers, have length, play both ways, can create or shoot.

Bud does a great job taking wings/tweeners, even some bigs, who are either unwanted or under performing, and sculpting their development into useful, solid, two-way players, not to mention his development of young players. You can immediately point to John Collins this season, not to mention other guys like Taurean Prince, DeMarre Carroll, Kent Bazemore, et al. He would be amazing for someone like Josh Jackson, Warren, even Booker, and if he gets a hold of Doncic.......

That would be a classic Suns move. Drop the 1 on a guy with a low ceiling who might be a wing when your two best youbg players are wings.

1290 dont know shit. Every one is using the Igor = Luka logic. Igor wasn't even the Suns 1st or 2nd choice. They're not going to mortgage it all on the history between their first time NBA head coach and a prospect.

If they do happen to go full retard and draft Luka then I'm out until Sarver sells the team.

I don’t like Gambo as a journalist or personality, but he’s Sarver’s mouthpiece and he says Suns are 100% on Ayton.

He needs to be right.

I’m out if it isn’t.
