Craziest offseason ever?

We're not even one day in and Chandler Parsons, Evan Fournier, Evan Turner and Timofey Mozgov are making more than Steph Curry next year.

Matthew Dellevedova is making almost 10 million a year. Solo just signed 4 years, 48 mil. Dogs and cats, living together. Mass hysteria!

It was 52 mil for Solo.

Sorry, first report had 4-48.

Point is still that this is insane. Evan Turner started 12 games and averaged 10.5 ppg. He will make about 19 million a year.

If they are in any way coordinated either teach them to dribble and shoot or how to pitch.

Unfortunately my kids will be little shits so I'll need to teach them to run with a football and avoid concussions.

It is crazy.

But it's not. Everyone is freaking out over new numbers, but most new mirror old numbers in percentages.

Curry is a horrible litmus test. He was always underpaid, and was such because of health, not talent.

Looks like Conley's deal signals the players won't allow injury to dictate worth.

Even Bledsoe before Conley, even if for half the money.

Remember when I said "sign Bledsoe and Knight to 5/70. It's max now but a bargain in two years"?

Well, 14 million for Knight looks pretty good right about now. I mean, that's barely more than Jeremy Lin money. Hell. That's barely more than Solomon Hill money.

A guy like Chandler holds value. A guy like Tucker could fetch a prospect and a pick.

Now, it's scary when Len is up for his deal. He'll at least get Noah money.

But for now a team like the Suns can operate with some tradable vets.

Nice place to be.

I'll trade Knight for a player and prospect or 1st right now.

I'd trade Goodwin with Chandler for a 1st and a prospect right now.

I'll trade Tucker Frye and a 1st right now.

Do it!

I'd call up Portland right now and offer Chandler/Tucker/Goodwin for a sign/trade Mo Harkless and a 2nd.

Consolidate CAP, get a pretty good young player locked up, and move Dudley into starting SF role.

Bledsoe, Ulis
Booker, Knight
Dudley, Warren
Harkless, Chriss
Len, Bender

That's not bad. Upside is rediculous.

The regular season rigged? I mean the issue is the cap allows for teams like this to be formed. It's definitely a casualty of the new system, but it's not as if the NBA is pulling player's legs and forcing them to create super teams. I will agree that every thing outside of the NBA Finals the next 3-4 years will be pointless, because we know who is going to matchup against whom at this point.

Strike when the iron's hot. The OKC front office might be close to a mass suicide.

Lord, the Warriors are stacked. Curry/Klay/Iggy/Durant/Green is unreal.

Just remember these dollar signs the next time an owner demands public money for an arena or mega-upgrade. "Golly, I just can't afford a place for my Rubber Barons to play. Pay up or we're moving."

How tall? My son is 14 and 6'+, going into HS this year and 1st base is his thing. According to the calcs he'll max out at 6'-5". He's also into playing TE.

Personally, I think baseball is his shot at a D1 scholly, not hoops.

He was the pg at Ohio state when they had Greg Oden and played Florida in the title game. 2007 I think.

That's star money for a complementary player at best.

You can trot out the old chestnut, "That's what the market will bear," but I don't see that being the new normal.

Not for that level of player. Nice game, but where's the return on it?

Yes. He's a better version of Kyle Lowry, who's an All-Star and Olympian, but he's fragile.

Gonna be tough to live up to those numbers.

Not sure it makes sense to invest that much in a PG whose always injured, but Conley is a good player.

Merkin wrote:Who is this guy? Nice contract for someone no non-NBA fan has heard of.

He's most famous for playing with Greg Oden and being the son of long jumper Mike Conley. He's been an above average pg with Memphis.

Memphis paid him because it was either pay him or start over. They weren't getting a replacement and they don't have a very young roster. They signed Parsons, and this keeps them in the playoffs.

The Thunder are super super close to becoming irrelevant and it must suck to be Sam Presti right now. What do you do?

a. Trade Westbrook now & get all that you can for him which could be a haul b/c no team is going to trade for him w/o having him sign an extension.

b. Hold onto him for the year and hope against all hope that Westbrook will stay in OKC?

I am sure that discussions have happened. If you don't get the feeling that he is going to sign a long term deal don't you have to get what you can?

It reminds of the franchises in Phoenix and Orlando and Utah. If you get good enough to step up to contend with the big boys, you get swatted back to where you belong. That San Antonio broke through like they did confounds me.

God the NBA totally sucks.

Question LH, do you consider the GSW the "big boys" because history would suggest otherwise. They broke through, could happen with the Suns if their front office wasnt so jacked up.

It's going to be fun watching MLS become the second largest sport in America in my lifetime.

Yeah, I mean big markets. Though Phoenix is actually a big market that should be able to attract and keep top talent, if not for the Suns' owner.

Phoenix is basically as big as Boston and the Bay Area.

San Antonio is as big as Orlando, and half the size of markets like Phoenix, Boston, and the Bay Area. But Pop built a culture of winning. Sarver would have canned Popavich pretty early on.

Oklahoma City has a passionate fanbase, but its market is practically half as big as Orlando and San Antonio.

I'm sure they think he's gone. They're not an attractive FA destination without Durant, and they need help.

If I'm Presti, I'm trying to play the Lakers and Celtics against each other. The chances he is back in OKC next year amount to slim and none. Why would he? So they can get brutalized by GS, LAC and SA on a constant basis in a city he's never seemed a huge fan of?

I don't know if Boston would risk their assets on a one year deal. They'd have to get a commitment from Russ to sign on past a year. The Lakers could use their first because two firsts, Russell, and a contract or two might get it done. I'd say Randle but I'm not sure he has much value outside the Lakers

OK, this one doesn't appear to be fake:

http://tmzhiphop.com/kevin-durant-tweet ... -opinions/

Kevin Durant had some choice words for Stephen A. Smith on his Twitter page this afternoon.

The now Warriors baller tweeted “f*ck Stephen A. Smith and His Uncle Tom Ass Opinions” to his 14.3 million followers on Twitter. The tweet was immediately taken down but it was too late as screenshots of it are all over the Internet.

Stephen A. Smith dropped a video on his Facebook page down talking the super star for choosing to jump on the Warriors bandwagon to assure himself a championship title.

Stephen A. Smith has yet to respond, but you can bet he has something witty to say hidden deep inside that forehead.
