It's truly astonishing the regency bias.
Since the last list, players I'd lost as top 50 include
Top-15
O'Neal
Duncan
Kobe
James
Top 16-25
Iverson
Kidd
Garnett
Top 26-40
Nowitzki
Nash
Top 41-50
Paul
Curry
Durant
Wade
I think Westbrook and Leonard have a legit chance.
But Anthony, Miller, Allen, Pierce, Howard, all these are quality players, worthy of Hall Of Fame, but they are not top-50 All Time.

The Olumpic channel is celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Dream Team and showing all 8 of their games. Pretty incredible

I think you guys are tripping re: Paul Pierce not being among the 50 greatest players. At least admit Pierce is the best among that list of Melo, Allen, Howard, and Miller you threw out Jmark.

I'd say Ray Allen is the best of that list. He has more 20+ PER seasons than Pierce, although Pierce's raw scoring is slightly higher. Ray has the shooting skill that just sets him apart.
I do think Pierce is a solid second. Beyond that, Dwight fell off hard, Melo is a cancer and Miller is good but so one dimensional.
Elgin Baylor always gets underrated on lists like this. He was doing unreal stuff.

I have an business associate who got, I want to say, 50 basketballs signed by the 50 year anniversary top 50 players of the Association as an investment in sports memorabilia. That pile of balls has to be worth a fortune by now, some of those dudes have passed away.
He's one of the best business minds I've ever met, so this isn't really surprising.

As a Laker fan I hated the Celtics but as a basketball fan, it was hard to hate Larry Bird because he was so fucking good. Laimbeer on the other hand was easy to hate because he was a marginal player who just mucked up the game. Was there ever a more physical player in the NBA? Also they should show what the Pistons did to MJ. It's so physical that it's hard to watch at times. The Pistons changed the game because the NBA decided to never let that type of team to exist again because it was killing the game

Oh I agree, Laimbeer was a thug. And had to admire the Celtics, they were a really good team well coached.
Never forget this steal. I was so upset I couldn't even watch the next game since I knew the Pistons were going to lose the series.
