I can't believe LaMelo may go #1. He's talented, but I'd take Wiseman, Edwards or even Toppin ahead of him.

Minny could take LaMelo #1, but they’d have a historically bad defensive team.

Haven't heard much about Nico's pre-draft workouts.
My favorite players in this draft: Edwards, Toppin and Avdija.

Maybe Steve can teach him the pro game. I'm sure getting drafted at 48 will give Nico some motivation to prove he belongs

We can spin it however we want, but in the end, Nico's performance at AZ last year just wasn't all that impressive, not in relation to his very high rating coming out of HS. He wasn't a bust, but he was actually closer to being a bust than he was to being a lottery pick.
I wish the guy well and hope he makes it with GS, but as it stands, he's got a LOT to prove.

Green $5.8M 2 years or $13.6 4 years
Nnaji $4.8M 2 years or $11.8 4 years
Experts were way off on Pritchard too. Went 26th.

Definitely not disagreeing with you. mannions play last season contributed to his fall from a potential lottery pick. I thought he could have gone late first or early 2nd.

Mannion could have used a true shooter at the 2-guard last year to give him an option other than Zeke who was seeing double teams.
In other words, Williams injury hurt Nico too. His fall into the second round wasn’t ALL his fault.

He had the green light to pretty much shoot when we he wanted. He missed a lot of wide open shots that he has to make to stick around in the NBA. Shooting below 40% and below 33% 3PT caused his stock to drop like a rock.

That's a VERY charitable assessment of Nico's performance last year. Seems like he had his best games early on, against weaker competition, and he steadily declined or stagnated as the season wore on. His final stat line for the season (14ppg/5.3apg/2.5rpg/1.2spg) is respectable. But his shooting percentages were not great, and as others have mentioned, he had a tendency to go ice cold and miss a lot of wide open shots. My impression during the season was that he was just immature, not quite ready to be a starting pg for a D-1 team with Final Four hopes. It happens.
But he definitely has some natural talents. The next 2 to 3 years will likely determine his NBA staying power.
Sometimes we get guys who are ready to hit big shots and lead a team from day one (Bibby, Gardner, Bayless); sometimes we get guys who are asked to do these things before they're ready (Mustafa, Nico).

It’s also quite obviously a partial one and I acknowledged that his fall mostly was on him.

For sure. Agreed.
