Re: 2021 Arizona Cardinals
To paraphrase Bill Walton, that Kyler INT was one of the 5 worst plays in NFL history.

Re: 2021 Arizona Cardinals
Kyler doesn’t strike me as a Tom Brady/Joe Burrow type of leader. Someone who is going to rally everyone behind him by being outspoken about the expectations they have for themselves and their teammates. Someone who can say “when everything is going against us, jump on my back and I will pull us through.”
Not that he can’t develop into that type of guy, but I feel like some QBs just have that ingrained in them.
As a Rams fan, I never thought Goff would be that guy. I saw him much more as a Joe Flacco game manager. But he hurt the team just about as often as he led them, and ultimately I was happy to see him go.
Will Cardinals fans eventually feel the same about Murray?

Of the 12 coaches, Rush picked the one whose fans have the deepest passion, the longest memories, the greatest lung capacity and … did I mention deep passion?

Re: 2021 Arizona Cardinals
The Cards are in a tough spot right now. It's clear to many that Kingsbury isn't the guy.
On one hand, how can you keep a guy that fades like this every damn year?
On the other, how can you fire a guy who improved record wise every year along with being only the third coach in club history with a double digit win season?

Re: 2021 Arizona Cardinals
Cards need a reboot. But it's hard to reboot a team that keeps improving the win total year-over-year. Kingsbury isn't the guy, and the late season fades are both endemic and problematic. It's a pattern that can't be ignored. And the Cards would afford letting Kingsbury go. They have NFL money, plus the new sports book opening up next year to help cash flow.
But I doubt the Cards make a move. Keim likes Kingsbury, and we'll hear how the Cards made the playoffs and the win total went up again. I'm sure the Cards will sign a decent free agent or two that will be the difference maker, but how many times with Kingsbury are the Cards going to wash, rinse, and repeat?
If you know a change is needed to be made, the time is now. Hard to win a Super Bowl when you consistently fade and can't win games late in the season. The Cards were 10-2 at one point, and while they made the playoffs, they failed to win the division, failed to host a playoff game, and failed to win a playoff game. How many other NFL teams who were first to the 10 win mark can make the same claim?

Re: 2021 Arizona Cardinals
Before the game I though Kingsbury looked loose and relaxed and I was convinced he had a plan to destroy the Rams.
About midway through the second quarter he looked shell shocked and like he was looking for an emergency exit.
I strongly doubt he gets fired. Not having DHop is a built-in excuse for the late season fade.

As bad as the Cards looked last night, they do not need a reboot.

Re: 2021 Arizona Cardinals
Early in the year Kyler was the most exciting player in the league. He's got too much talent to give up on him yet. He really, really, really needs to mature though and take major steps forward as a leader and decision maker.azgreg wrote: ↑Tue Jan 18, 2022 11:37 amI've reached the point that I'm not sure Murray will get it.Alieberman wrote: ↑Tue Jan 18, 2022 8:58 am As bad as the Cards looked last night, they do not need a reboot.

Re: 2021 Arizona Cardinals
Most of these guys are replaceable. Obviously we want Chandler Jones back but his price might be too high. Kirk has been a disappointment.azgreg wrote: ↑Wed Jan 19, 2022 8:26 am The Cardinals free agent list:

I would like to see Ertz back if the price is right. AJ Green had his moments but not a big loss if we don't resign him.
Chase would be nice to have back at RB but I wouldn't overpay him. Running backs can be found for cheap.

I heard about this. Are the Cards having second thoughts about him due to his last game?

Re: 2021 Arizona Cardinals
I think he's being emotional about all the recent criticism he's been facing.
And if that's true.... I am not hopeful about his future as a leader/qb

Re: 2021 Arizona Cardinals
A few athletes scrub their social media after the season is over. A “look ahead, not behind” kind of thing.
Or maybe he’ll be playing centerfield for the Padres…

I think it's a contract move.

Kyler has all the talent to become an elite qb but he is going to stop himself from becoming that player

My vote would have been yes on Keim, no on Kliff
