Ravens Fans Give Ray Rice Standing Ovation'
Ray Rice pounded his chest twice and pointed up to the crowd. It was clear this moment meant a lot to him.

Rice has been in the court of public opinion, but he had yet to be out in public.

In his first major appearance Monday night at M&T Bank Stadium as part of an open training camp practice, Rice got a standing ovation from the Ravens fans that have followed him for the past six years.

Rice has been under a lot of national scrutiny, magnified with the announcement of his two-game suspension. His hometown fans showed him a lot of love, however.

The standing-O came as Rice jogged onto the field. He ran to a corner of the stadium and away from the rest of his teammates, and it was clear who fans were cheering for. Rice gave them a smile and salute, as if to thank them.

Rice then showed his usual fun-loving side, challenging a young boy to a race down the Ravens sideline.

Rice jerseys sprinkled the crowd, worn by both males and females.

“I have on number 27 to show the fans, and the world, that I am supportive of Ray Rice,” said Jerra Byrd of Randallstown, Md. “He has been forgiven by his wife. He is moving on with his life. He didn’t ask for the two-game suspension.”

“I’m wearing his jersey because he is still a good man,” added Debbie Lindling of Baltimore. “I’m happy to support Ray Rice, just like he has always supported our community.”

You know, maybe he should just stop pounding stuff for a bit. His chest, his wife, etc.

Edit: and this is ongoing evidence Goodell is a ****king joke.

Multiple offenses. Had to get that many games according to the collective bargaining agreement that the players signed.

Ray Rice should have gotten a hell of a lot more games from Goodell for sure though.

Dallas Cowboys include playoff tickets in season-ticket pack

The Dallas Cowboys make it easy sometimes.

Nothing is going to send people rolling in the aisles quite like this: The Cowboys sent out playoff tickets to their season-ticket holders. Before the season starts. Before the preseason starts. Dallas fans already have their playoff tickets including for the NFC championship game, according to ESPN's Darren Rovell.

The Cowboys have won one playoff game since Dec. 28, 1996, haven't made the playoffs since 2009, and go into this season with perhaps the worst defense in football. But hey, those tickets might make for nice placemats.

Looks like the Rams have to go without Sam Bradford again.

What were the Rams supposed to do? Not sign the #1 pick? That was the going rate before the latest collective bargaining agreement.

The silver lining here is that the Rams don't have to re-sign him. He's a free agent and if he can get a deal above league minimum from any team he should take it because the Rams will be drafting a QB and can offer him a very team-friendly deal with no guaranteed money.

Oh, total sugar coat!! I hate that the Chargers play in this game what seems like every year so I am forced to listen to him talk about the Chargers once a year.

His awkward attempt at talking about Ray Rice was cringe-worthy at best.

I've already been hearing plenty of bad turns-of-phrase regarding that hit.

"knocked some heart into Cutler"

"got his heart started"

etc etc.

I love when things like this happen. Double Check Yourself!!

The Detroit Lions will be without starting middle linebacker Stephen Tulloch for the rest of the season because of a celebration gone awry.

The Lions are placing Tulloch on injured reserve after he hurt his left ACL during a 19-7 win Sunday over the Packers while celebrating a sack of Green Bay's Aaron Rodgers

"It's a loss there," Lions coach Jim Caldwell said. "Unfortunately, in our game, it happens all too often."

Caldwell said Tulloch will have surgery on the knee at an undetermined date. Caldwell also said he isn't certain Tulloch injured his knee during the celebration, but Tulloch said he felt his knee give during the celebration when he fell to the ground.

I understand that the network gave the announcers the option on how they want to say it. They are using Redskins on the radio in Phoenix.

You are correct. However, Simms came out publicly and said that he finds the name offensive (all of a sudden) and will not say it.

Illegal hit on a defenseless player by 35 NYG in the NYG/Redskins game with 1:49 left in the second quarter.

What did you think about the call?

It looked like NYG 35 was lowering his shoulder to make the tackle/hit and then the Football Club ( ) WR lowered his head so they hit heads.

Philly leads SF 21 - 10 with 8 to go in the 2nd. . .on the strength of a block punt TD, an INT TD and a punt return TD. Weird game.

It's a good thing, because the bad Foles showed up in the first half again today. Overthrowing a lot. Some of them wide open.
