What a fucking joke. Everyone associated with the USA Soccer leadership should be fired and dipped in an ocean of pure shit.

Simply amazing that the 3rd largest country and most powerful on Earth can't make it to the world cup

In 2022 only these players will on the current roster will be under 30: Yedlin, Pulisic, Arriola, Acosta, and Wood. Don't start any of the other players in any future Gold Cup or friendlies, they're done and not the future. We play in the cupcake region, too.

Even people like me that could care less find this shocking and unacceptable. Those that want soccer to legitimately take off in this country, this sets it back a decade or more. Trinidad has just over 1 million people. Even if our best athletes choose the big 4, golf AND tennis first, we still have more than enough to field a better team than them.

Their golden age has kind of passed, but they still should have qualified

I mean Tad Boyle couldn't do any worse. He'd at least find a Dinwiddie here and there.

Tad as in Tab Ramos... I'm guessing he gets the first shot. Though I'm curious if US Soccer gets a complete overhaul, then does Tab get lumped in with the previous coaches and administration.

The larger European powers have matched Netherlands' youth development programs. I don't think Netherlands will ever be anything more than a country that is a second tier contender when they have a golden generation and disappears in off year cycles. Germany, France and Spain just have much larger population bases and more resources that they are now properly deploying. For some reason England still can't figure out how to deploy theirs.

Italy has not qualified for the World Cup. First time since 1958. Makes me feel a tad better.

A US-Italy-Netherlands-Chile mini-tournament would be worth watching.

Italy Misses 2018 FIFA World Cup In Russia, Leaving Aussie Fans In A Delicious Karma Frenzy
Italy has missed qualification for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, and if karma is a sandwich, Australians are currently gorging on an 18-inch crusty bruschetta with foot-thick layering of salami, provolone cheese and antipasti.

Id imagine all of the rampant corruption in Italian soccer is probably a bigger karma response than a questionable call 11 years ago

Australia's coach has retired BEFORE the World Cup.

Would you folks recommend or warn us off Klinsmann?

Really freaking excited to finally see guys like Reyna (man crush), Dest, Adams, Robinson, Konrad, McKinnie all of the pitch together. Not to mention the new guys like Gioacchini, Musah, Soto, Otasowie, Richards, Odunze.
