Wait. What three goals should have been from him being lost?

I will just give you the Ghana goal. Portugal first and second goal had nothing to do with Zusi. You also forgetting the set piece that won the Ghana game. your just picking random facts.
I well remember the cross on the second goal against Ghana. But I don't see any reason why Bradely, or Landon if he'd been here in Zusi's place like he should have been, couldn't have put in the same cross.

And Zusi's dead balls today were absolutely embarrassing.

Look I don't disagree with you. But please don't say Landon would be better because 2010 World Cup and 2012-2014 MLS Landon couldn't hit a barn either on his set pieces.

legallykenny wrote:Goal against Ghana and first goal today both came over our right side because Zusi wasn't able to stop the ball down his wing. But you're apparently really into dishonest interpretations of my posting - what I would expect from someone so limited in his understanding of the game. Go over to bigsoccer and see what the respected posters over there (not that idiots who just opened accounts in the past month to trash scapegoats du jour) think of Zusi's game. Almost unanimous that he was utter garbage.

And with that, we're done because you're apparently an KC fan who isn't actually watching the games (and can't read my posts you're trying pitifully to respond to) so I'm not going to waste my time.
So this is Zusi's fault?

Out of position, sure, but you put this on Zusi?

I'm not dishonestly interpreting your posts. I'm claiming that you're wrong. The problem with the 1st Portugal goal was all on Cameron. The Ghana goal was just a great sequence from a talented squad. Your expectations and standards for US Soccer are unrealistic. I'm not a KC fan. And mainly I'm stressing that you're a douche because you pull out the YOU DON'T KNOW THE SPORT ELITIST BS because someone disagrees with your take. That's childish garbage. Have fun with the only people in the country who know soccer at the bigsoccer website.

I was also the first in this thread today to point this out. He wasn't good at times but he didn't cost us the goals you refer to and he has contributed to half of our country's scores in this tournament.

Better idea than in actual practice, unless Gregg Popovich coaches the Germans.

Remember Neville Chamberlain thinking Germany would be content and agreeable? We need to come out ready to take it.

I don't think it'll happen. I think Germany will beat us by 2.
It's long past time to bring this back to the court, let's do it with a small update:

Is there a betting service where I can fade this number and get 3-1+ that we don't go through?

In Vegas do they have real time odds on moving on to the knockout rounds?

Thanks Katz.

After some sleep and thought, the mutually assured advancement theory is stupid. I think the Germans will be coming, and coming hard at the US.

I don't think the Americans will play any less hard, especially since they don't have the goal differential advantage that Germany does.

But that being said, if we get to the 75th minute and it's 0-0 or 1-1, I doubt either team will be looking for that knockout punch of a goal. Why kill yourselves when a draw does everyone a lot of good?

How are the groups established? Is it just a blind draw or is it FIFA being FIFA?

Filed away in the "this Portugal team sucks" category...
Ronaldo gave a candid assessment after the game in Manaus, where Silvestre Varela's equalizer in added time kept alive Portugal's slender hopes of advancing.

"We're probably just an average team. I'd be lying if I said we were a top team," Ronaldo said. "Portugal was never a favorite (at the World Cup). I honestly never thought I would be World Cup champion."

I forget what analyst I saw say this, but one made Chi's point exactly. It makes a lot of sense that both teams would go conservative late if it's a tie. I don't think you play for one from the start, but if you're there, it is better strategy to play to preserve moving on.

Ridiculous tracking stats: http://resources.fifa.com/mm/document/t ... istics.pdf

Hopefully Klinsi learns his lesson that guys who run literally 2 km more than anyone else still on the pitch might make mistakes in the 95th minute.

With the goals that were taken away from Mexico and the goals that were given to Brazil, Mexico should've easily won this group on goal differential.

They still might...

SportsVU, NBA.com posts a good amount of the player tracking. Not all of it yet, but advanced statistics are going to go through the roof when geeks figure out what to do with the data, and they are getting closer every season.

Yep. Suarez bit him on his shoulder from behind, causing him hit Suarez with his arm as a natural reaction, at which point Suarez falls to the ground complaining he got hit in the teeth.

Suarez seriously bit a person at the World Cup?

I mean that can't be true. I have to find the video. Can a person really be that stupid?
