Well, this is the one that Phil has gone "all in" on. Will be very interesting to see how he handles the pressure that he has put on himself starting on Thursday.

Will be very interesting to see Pinehurst #2 with the re-design. I have seen a couple flyovers with comparisons of some holes this year compared to 2005.

Cant' wait. This is my favorite tournament by far. I'm really curious to see how the different rough conditions will effect the play.

Looks like the weather will be hot and wet, which could make things interesting (and keep scores low).

For some reason I like Zach Johnson to win. Just an out-of-nowhere guess.

That's a good pick. he drives it straight and is a good iron player. Something I found interesting is the women play their Open next week on the same course.

Anyone watch the Big Cedar Lodge Legends of Golf over the weekend? So cool watching Jack, Gary, Lee, Faldo, Watson, etc. Plus the commentators stayed quiet so you could hear what they were talking about. Amazing these guys can still play that well. Jack was crushing the ball

Phil will need to make putts this week if he wants to contend. His putting has been atrocious this year. He actually has been hitting his driver pretty well and his ball striking has been good, but it will come down to putting for him.

Phil has not been able to put 4 rounds together in quite a while. I don't expect anything different this week.

It's the US Open, you need to be able to hit it long and most importantly, you have to have a great short game. The US Open setups usually favor Phil, that's why he has 6 runner-ups. Maybe he can recapture that magic he had at last year's Bristsh Open.

Look, I like Phil even though he's a ASSu guy. Here is his finishes this season: 19, 14, w/d, 42, 19, cut, 16, w/d, 12, cut, 11, cut, 49, and 11. I don't see him being a factor this week. I hope I'm wrong.

Good mini-feature on Phil/Bones:
If you do the golf course math, Mackay and Mickelson have walked about 25,000 miles together -- the equivalent of walking around the waist of the world. They've been together longer than any active player/caddie combo on the tour. Longer than Derek Jeter has played for the New York Yankees. Longer than Mickelson and his wife, Amy, have been a couple.

Kaymer is running away with it on the second day as he is now -9 thru 12 holes. Closest score is -2.

Even after a rough day Kaymer is still in control. Gonna be tough to catch but still hoping for a good finish to make things interesting.

Experts and previous winners are pretty pissed they moved up the tees on #3 and #13 to make them driveable par 4's to try and increase scoring. Should be an interesting day. Fowler birdies one to start making his move perhaps?

Double by Fowler and now it's easily Kaymer's.
