US Women squeaked it out today in their 1st match vs Thailand.

13-0

Um.

Ouch Thailand.

It was only 3-0 at the half.

Shots on goal was 20-2. So what that means is that I could've waddled out onto the pitch and played goalie and at worst the US would've won 13-2 instead of 13-0.

Damn, I had Thailand and plus 12.

France v Norway just down the street from me tonight and sold out!

France certainly got some homer calls. The PK retake, but they didn't get called for encroaching the box before it was kicked. Can't wait until we play Sweden and see how the offense does and how the defense holds up.

Biggest difference I can tell between Women's and Men's Soccer.... the Women don't spend half the match rolling around on the ground in complete agony and then suddenly pop up to a complete sprint a minute later.

Morgan is leading in goals in the World Cup. Health Is having a fantastic game. It is obvious that the USWNT is the best team in the world. I heard on the broadcast their second team is the second best team in the world. They are very skilled and play an aggressive type game. They are fun to watch. On a side note the best player in the tourney is Endler, the goalie from Chile. She has made some spectacular saves. The team is going to be playing Spain in the knockout round, and maybe France in the quarterfinals. Probably their biggest competition is The Netherlands or Germany. I wish the USMNT could compete with Europe like the USWNT team.

That was a tester. Up next: France.

This is the biggest match of the World Cup. Playing France in Paris. Plus it reached 111 degrees in Paris today. This match will be electric.

The US team is fun to watch for they play soccer at a very high level. They play fast break soccer. They constantly steal the ball and their passing is at a very high level. The only problem I have is with Dunn. She is playing out of position and makes bad decisions at times.

Since about 2/3 into the first half heat has definitely taken a toll. Not playing sharp at all. It's like the team is trying to hang on. France is playing better than the US right now.

That was a battle and should have been the final. I was surprised by the play of Dunn. She did a great job.

Uh, don't think she is sipping.

Took a nap and almost slept through the first half. Woke up 22 minutes in and already two goals. This has been an epic game. Keep up the tea party (first edition-style), ladies!

What is cool is how much better women’s soccer is now. It’s being played at the highest level that it has ever been played. England and France were good teams.
