That was hilarious. Hope Rabb didn't mind.

Not to be a wet blanket, but is this type of thing tampering or the NCAA equivalent? I know coaches can't mention a player's name before the LOI is signed, but maybe former players can.

Re: Ivan Rabb
I can't imagine how this could be construed as a recruiting violation. There's no restriction on boosters mentioning recruits names as long as there is no type of offer in regards to illegal benefits. Plus Rabb and Nick were both Oakland Soldiers, so their connection goes further than Arizona.azcat34 wrote:Not to be a wet blanket, but is this type of thing tampering or the NCAA equivalent? As a former athlete of the University, he is and always will be a "Representative of Athletics Interests" and therefore "Representatives of athletics interests are NOT permitted to use social networking websites such as Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, and Instagram to contact or otherwise attempt to correspond with PSAs"
Re: Ivan Rabb
Doesn't matter who you are an employee of, basically all boosters aren't employees of University of Arizona.Olsondogg wrote:I believe Nick Johnson is an "employee" of the Houston Rockets now...not of the UA basketball program.azcat34 wrote:Not to be a wet blanket, but is this type of thing tampering or the NCAA equivalent? Re: Ivan Rabb
True, but to use Merkin's terms above, the NCAA clearly states:
Recruiting is any solicitation of a PSA or the PSA’s family (or guardian) by an institutional staff member or by a
representative of the institution’s athletics interests for the purpose of securing the PSA’s enrollment and ultimate participation in the institution’s intercollegiate athletic program.
I don't see how a friend talking to another friend on social media is violation.

This is great...now you all are in violation for creating this thread:
Athletics representatives and fans may not initiate or accept
“friend” requests of PSAs on Facebook. Representatives should
never post to a recruit’s “wall,” reply to a “tweet,” send them
any type of direct message, or take any other action that would
constitute contacting that recruit. This prohibition also
includes creating fan pages for recruits to attend an institution.

Is that going to be one of those pictures that gets looked back on in twenty years and all the Arizona players say, "who was that guy at Rondae's birthday party?"

Any updates on IR's visit? Hope he enjoyed the show.
Re: Ivan Rabb
I saw him at the game and who ever was sitting next to him on his right was talking his ear off. IR seemed to be talking back with him and not getting upset with this guy. I am not sure if it was a booster or recruiting person but he was just talking, talking and talking. Haha!HiCat wrote:Any updates on IR's visit? Hope he enjoyed the show.

Cousin in the army. Daughter on the east coast. Son thinks he's an artist and can't get a job. Neighbor wants to get a motorcycle but never met his brother-in-law with the broken leg and the Yamaha in the creek bed. Wants to retire one day to spend more time seeing national monuments. Has diabetes. You know, all the things you need to hear about instead of reading your book.84Cat wrote:Spill the dirt LH. PJC reaching to get something off of Stanley's plate? And why why is Johnson by himself?

Merk, your Johnson comment. Isn't that IR on Johnson's right. And Coach right behind him(IR)? So we got IR surrounded? Am I seeing this wrong?
Last thought. What a great game for IR to see, and especially with the way Coach played Brash, huh?

PJC is behind RHJ...that's a long reach...Rabb is going for the plate.

Re: Ivan Rabb
Agree, going for Stanley's plate (if that is Stanley on his left). And if so, again, good stuff to have Stanley and Coach surrounding the Big Guy so he can't get away. Let's keep it that way till Spring.Olsondogg wrote:Merkin wrote:HiCat wrote:Cool pix. Miller magic at work. And don't sell PJC, ahhh.......short. He's notorious for snatching plate stuff no matter how far way. Amazing table reach.

Then it's gotta be down to UK and AZ. UNC is verrrrr far and that program needs new blood at the HC.midnightx wrote:Rabb is going to wind up at a major program that can compete for titles. Cal has no shot. At this point, isn't basically AZ, UK, and UNC in the real running?
I can't see it at UK. That is pretty far as well. I know it's UK blah blah but there has to be a comfort level for Mom Dad and obviously for him. Hope that comfort level spells ARIZONA.

Haven't heard much UK talk, or Cal going out of his way to visit Rabb, etc.
Cuonzo Martin is the real deal though. He should recruit at a very high level, comes off as genuine as Miller.
