It's our annual KU tourney chokefest. Nova did what many thought was impossible, ending Perry Ellis's college career.

I don't think Kansas lost it as much as Nova won it, kind of like our game last year. Great game to watch.

I wouldn't say Kansas choked. They didn't lose the game. Villanova won the game with hustle.

They were a heavy favorite to win the whole thing. How about that they underperformed like every year?

Considering they were the favorites to cut down the nets, and had about 8 free points off sheer luck and Villanova was good with just running time with otherwise pretty much empty possessions down the stretch in a low scoring affair, I'd say the severly underachieved.

What u talking about, everything out of this tournament outside of our fail has been great. Kansas, Kentucky, Duke, Michigan State, etc., all out. Would be perfect if Cuse loses. Dont have any issues w UNC bein the only blue blood standing

UNC isn't the pure white dove everyone makes them out to be. In fact, I'd go as far as saying they employ more skullduggery as a program (not within games, thats Duke's forte) than the school north of it, 20 minutes away.

I agree, it's been a fantastic tourney.

In my opinion, I don't like Oregon in general, too new money, their fans are annoying, and they are in our conference.

and to top it off for tomorrow...Go Irish.

I have UVA winning my bracket so go UVA too. I like Tony Bennett. He runs a great program.

I think we are 2-0 against UNC all time in the tournament, at least since the Lute era. 3-3 in the all time series. There have been a few guys ive disliked a lot, Hansbrough being the one that jumped into my head immediately, but for the most part I cant think of any reason to hate them. They got their crap now, which im sure will not produce any serious sanctions, but they definately dont reach the level of dickhead as several other blue bloods or 2nd tier programs. Plus they are Dukes big rival, so I've rooted for them plenty. They are like the Red Sox to me. Roy Williams hasnt really rubbed me wrong (pause), if he has, it wasnt big enough for me to remember right now.

Plus we've nabbed quite a few of their big targets over the past several years.

i mean, this was ku's natty banner year wasn't it? the team had a massive head start playing together last summer at world unis and entered the tourney as the overall #1 seed and odds-on favorite with a cakewalk of a draw. it's weird for a program ostensibly at the apex of elite college basketball to trip over its own feet in the dance each year with such consistency. sic transit gloria for the big12 champs, i guess.

I am still skeptical of the pace that team plays at. I really think that slow pace is a huge detriment in the tournament. It keeps games too close and attempting to catch up at that pace is nearly impossible. They're methodical, typically have good ball movement and play for an open shot. They couldn't rally back, and couldn't play with any sense of urgency whatsoever. They're the shot clock version of four corners.

BTW so many can't handle the press, it's ridiculous (AZ could either).

Can't believe the break Cuse caught after their Dayton game. Getting Middle Tennessee and then Gonzaga. I guess props to them for beating a disciplined UVA squad.

The chickenhawks last two titles have the word "miracle" attached to them. The 2012 title game appearance, we'll Marshall fractured his wrist. Self has needed luck to get his team to the final weekend. 2008 EE game. Need I mention all the choke jobs Kansas has endured since Bill Toupee took over.

Can say the same thing about N.D. 11, 14, 7 and if the somehow beat N.C, would play a 10 to get to the title game.

I have the same logic as you when rooting for non-Arizona teams. Syracuse, Villanova, Mich State are at about our level in the 2nd tier. Having either of them win again would surpass us. UNC already probably being the greatest team of the modern era doesn't affect us.

I just recall Lute's teams getting slaughtered in the most recent UNC non-conference games, home or away.

Good Point, but I fear if UNC wins, Roy can "leave on top" which means we are likely looking for a new coach. If UNC loses, I think Roy stays on for another cycle (3-4 years) which gives Miller (and the AD) more time for the "roots to deepen" so to speak.

Saw an interview with Roy yesterday and he said he had no desire to stop coaching. He loves it too much. He said as long as he is in good health he will continue coaching. I don't believe we have much to worry about Roy leaving right now. He is following Lute's example.

Here's a link for possessions per game leaders that allows you to go year to year. I don't think it demonstrates any real correlation between pace and tourney success.
