I hope like hell he is thinking about the much needed big man or a combo high quality C/PF that is drastically needed to add depth.
Dusan is not the answer but is valuable for spot minutes and targeted offensive firepower in certain sets as a back up role.
Chance is still growing and will need time but has a very nice upside and may well surpass Ristic as a starter.
The big talented Euro kid is going to be shell shocked at the athletic differences in the US. He'll eventually be good but will need time to grow and acclimate. People's expectations of him are far too high as a overseas new comer.
Miller needs a big-time C/PF addition to this group be it a grad transfer or whatever.
With Tarc gone its now going to be front-line play by committee, but we'll need a lot of fouls to give from the PF and Center positions.

Re: Josh Jackson
whatever happens, this has been a notable recruiting story for its complete lack of any stories. The recruiting press has continued to file stories, but they were 99% based on what other recruiting experts were saying, which was based on nothing but the movement of the herd. JJ did a fine job of keeping his business out of the hands of other people. So much so that we haven't had the usual 100% confirmation/rush to update crystal ball predictions and we are 10 minutes outside the official announcement
Re: Josh Jackson
Probably will attempt to fill the whole with a grad transfer. I was hoping for Yurtseven.Gladiator Cat wrote:MountainCat wrote:So what do you think Coach Miller is doing right now?

Just need to sign TF, and our class is still better than KU's.

Well, there it is. Hope we get TF, best of luck to JJ. For what it's worth, I respect the way he handled the recruitment.

Re: Josh Jackson
If Miller ever got an invite I would never begrudge him for moving on to the NBA and leaving all of this college recruiting BS in his rear view mirror. HST I doubt he will go to the NBA but I wouldn't blame him.
I don't know how the hell Miller or any other adult can stand this recruiting gut punch time and time again.
The thousands of man hours and nights away from home wasted on recruiting that kid and others like him.
I'm getting a brain cramp just thinking about it.

Let me break it down for you. TF isn't leaving North Carolina without committing to UNC now that he has an offer.enfuego wrote:Next up... Terrance Ferguson... come on down and join the KU family!
Kansas and Arizona are fine schools and have very good BB programs but neither are UNC good and TF knows it, Miller and Self know it as well.

Re: Josh Jackson
Honestly, though, while landing JJ was the dream, we're in very good shape for next season, plus we may still land TF. Miller has done a nice job with the '16 class. I'm sure he's disappointed that coaching JJ ended up providing no advantage.

Re: Josh Jackson
Would be nice for Kansas. If it were one or the other straight-up, I'd obviously choose Jackson. But given that you're now going to have to sweat this out until whether or if Jackson goes to China and doesn't clear NCAA requirements, I'd rather have Ferguson, who will come to Arizona. The reality is that Arizona is so loaded, it was hard for Jackson to showcase like he can with Kansas's lighter roster.enfuego wrote:Next up... Re: Josh Jackson
Her naivety and faux innocence is adorable. Izzo and Miller don't care about their players everyone. Didn't let him make his own decision, she'll probably move to Lawrence to control him there too. I mean she did create her own AAU team for JJ to play in.
Just admit he has 30-35 minutes to showcase himself with no threat from Svi

Re: Josh Jackson
Such is life. Hes been behind seveal gut punches to other coaches himself. Its Miller tho, he already has a nice 5 star collection from 2016 and has the ability to add to it. And im sure he knows this decision had nothing to do with him and there are other "factors" at play.Gladiator Cat wrote:If Miller ever got an invite I would never begrudge him for moving on to the NBA and leaving all of this college recruiting BS in his rear view mirror. Re: Josh Jackson
Maybe by the time he gets there he will know it's the University of Kansas, not Kansas University.
Re: Josh Jackson
Not sure. The school he was sent to play for in California is legit and he was sent there so he could focus on his grades. Think he's going to qualify without a problem. Ferguson goes to Prime Prep? I believe that is the school that is hit/miss with getting kids qualified. Mudiay went there and they weren't going to clear him, so he went overseas. But, a couple of other players qualified no problem. Who knows. Personally, I expect Svi to have a break out year next year, so we're all sweating out whether he goes back to Europe to play ball or returns for his junior season. I'd rather have Svi back then adding Ferguson. Also, I look for Vick to take that freshman to sophomore jump and be able to back up the 2g position - think he ended up consensus top 50 in the final rankings of the class.Longhorned wrote:Would be nice for Kansas. Re: Josh Jackson
I'm really done with all this recruiting bull****. Prima donnas that are only using my beloved alma mater as a one year pit stop anyway and then bleed all the fanbases for the maximum amount of drama. It really makes me question whether I can really be a fan if this is the way things are going to be. Love to see basketball go the way of college baseball. If you want to play in college, you are in for 2-3 years. If you want to go pro right away, do it.
