Like Spaceman Spiff said earlier, Cal was just afraid. Outside Bird and Rabb, they are not conditioned to take big shots. The worst was Sammy taking the ball off a pretty good behind-the-back dribble that gave him the right hand drive, getting to the mid block with defense scrambling, having either an easy layup or runner with a likely foul as Oregon was chasing, then jumping in the air and twisting to throw a pass back to the top of the key which would get picked off by a team of 8th graders. He used to be a kind of cocky dude...now, he looks scared to do anything but get the ball to Bird/Rabb.

There were like 3 possessions like that late, but the aforementioned was the most blatant ball-shrinking.

I know Oregon State football stayed at the far east side Hilton on Broadway a few years back - not sure if any other teams use it.

Their tournament hopes are suddenly diminishing with 4 straight losses. 21-8 now. Gotta sweep the Washington schools to hope to get in

Arizona Christian is like D3, aren't they?

There's probably a couple guys here that could have played for them.

What kind of coach leaves a starter in during garbage minutes in an exhibition against a DIII opponent? I think Pima C.C. could beat Arizona Christian.

Arizona Christian isn't even an NCAA school. They are NAIA. 781 students attend the school. Located in a like Junior high sized campus on Cactus road in Phoenix.

I used to play against them on the playground back when they were Southwestern Bible College and coached by Paul Westphal. And no, I couldn’t remotely compete against them.

Arizona Christian is so small, it plays 8-man football.

I mean, the AD down there and I go way back, but it's not even close to Pima's level. DeAndre Ayton would beat the Firebirds by himself, easily.

As seen on TV.

SC squeaks by North Dakota State. Melton held out due to investigation. Ran a lot of zone.

Oregon has a lot of athletes, but definitely smaller (no Bell and Boucher). Will run zone press and retreat into zone against us.

Don't think Stanford has the guards to be a threat.

Cal, UW and WSU just not very talented. Huskies will zone us (and everyone), but they're struggling with it.
Right where I want to be.
