of course CSM is going to be feeling this way at this point. Heck he prob feels like retiring and going to live on some small island in the carribean. Who wouldn't?

The guy needs some time and space.

Doesn't UCONN have their own issues with sanctions and such?

What does worry me is that he is looking at next year and sees a pretty rough go and is thinking, now is time to bail. But I give Miller more credit than that.

That is illegal defense. The NBA has figured out zone is so unbelievably effective, they had to ban it to preserve competitive balance.

I love Sean. He's a good guy and has succeeded beyond expectations at AZ, particularly in recruiting. If he's ready for a fresh start, I'll wish him well. He's earned our respect, so we owe it to him to stay in his corner.

On the other hand, if he does stay in Tucson, we'll be very lucky. Finding a coach who can do what Miller does is not easy, and while some will argue that he's yet to reach the FF or that he's done less with more, that's BS. He has AZ in a position to win a league title and make a run in the tourney every freaking year. That's what we want in a coach. Oh, and he's done it without cheating. His reputation is taking a hit because of the Book situation, and who knows, maybe Sean turned the other way when he should've fired the guy. Hard to say. But as far as we know, Sean himself didn't cheat.

Anyway, here's hoping he stays in Tucson for many more years. But if he does leave, I'll remain a fan.

UCONN is largely a lateral move. Not a top five program, but a top 10-15 program with a great history. However, UCONN with have as much or more pressure than the Arizona job because of higher expectations for a title. If it is simply for a change of scenery and a fresh start, sure, UCONN makes sense as a lateral move for personal reasons. But the job is not an upgrade. Miller has established a top ten program in Tucson with his own stamp and identity on it and that cannot be an easy thing to walk away from.

At this point a fresh start at a program where he will be able to recruit and win big at is exactly what he'd be looking for and UCONN certainly checks all the boxes. He's not afraid of expectations one bit, but he and this fanbase have gone through the ringer together hence why him leaving for a program that's not a blueblood plays now when it wouldn't have before.

Let's see, move east check. Start new, check, go to a program coming off some bad year, check. Lots of recruits local, check. Sucks for us but great for Miller and family.

I think we should start talking about who takes our ship, Romar? Do we get tyo keep #aplayersprogram :)

No, Romar would never be considered and who wants a retread who has been on the downward slope for over 5 years?

I start with Chris Beard personally and go from there.

UCONN is in the AAC and it's already hard to play non conference teams since no one will do home and homes, I just don't see their rise. I think their ceiling isnt as high now that they aren't in the old Big East. Their decline seems to match the conference realignment.

That is the end. The $100,000+ payment to Bowen sealed Pitino's fate. If true, hard to imagine Miller surviving, let alone going to UCONN.

According to posts from 97cats back in the fall when Book was taken down by the FBI, AZ had been paying six figures for recruits, along with all of the other premier programs. So, it is not surprising to hear his remarks validated. Still, on some level, it is still shocking. Is it going to just be AZ, or are the indiscretions by other programs going to finally be uncovered to the same extent?

Anyone think that there is any chance at all the Miller was aiding the FBI and trying to get the agency and Book on tape. From older posts when the FBI investigation first came up, there were a handful of posts making it almost seem like Miller knew something was up based on the timing of everything going on, the Romar hire, etc.

I can’t help but feel like there’s no way that Miller talked openly about paying players and said when it came to money to only deal with him.

Maybe it’s crazy wishful thinking, but I can’t imagine him being that stupid.

Don’t get me wrong. I believe we pay for players. I just think we’d try to hide it at least a little.

If you look at a herd of Zebra in South Africa what are the chances there is a polar bear amongst them? It's possible, I guess.
