That is already what UCLA is doing this season, obviously.

Arizona basketball is like a marriage, through sickness and health. I think Heeke should tell the NCAA they are self-imposing sanctions, which includes no postseason this year.

I will not be surprised if he steps down some time before tip-off tomorrow. One can only hope Romar sticks around for a couple of years and helps maintain some stability during an era of sanctions.

This is hard to take but I will always be an Arizona Wildcat fan. Players like Jason Terry and so many more is why. Just can't give up even though we're in for some tough times ahead. If I can live through the Ben Lindsay year I can live through this.

I thought the same thing. Obstruction isn't taken lightly by the Feds. Miller could be looking at some pretty substantial prison time depending on what he said or didn't say. Unbelievable.

Whats the most funny about all of this shit is the NCAA has known for years that players and parents are paid huge sums of money for the stars. And others not so fortunate get hand out's under the table.

But those asshats at the FBI had to come along and conduct a giant sting and get all of the dirt on a dirty underbelly that has existed all along.

The NCAA is almost dead and the paradigm of amateur college sporting events is about to change forever. Now people can stop living the lie and admit openly what they would only say in private before.

Aside from obstruction, *if he lied to the FBI*, I don't see the crime unless he pocketed money. It would appear that may also be a possible defense. "Hey, I just facilitated something between a party wanting to pay and a party willing to accept." NCAA will drop the hammer, but can't see jail time for that unless someone is defrauded. You could argue the UofA is a victim I guess? It's so bad regardless of how you see it that the only way it can get better is if K, Roy, Self and others are also on tape.

Really a depressing week. Hard to see any way the program survives this.

How about CBS and the other associated March Madness networks? After paying around $8 Billion for extended March Madness coverage rights, one would think the network sports divisions are very concerned with not only how this scandal will impact ratings and advertising, but what the product on the floor is going to look like in a couple of years when most of the college level stars could forgo playing NCAA basketball altogether, because you can bet that the NBA is looking at establishing some sort of attractive development training and league.

I would be very surprised if Arizona even plays in the tournament this year.

Robbins and Heeke may have to pull the trigger and bite the bullet. The cleanse has to start right away no matter how painful.

The way forward out of this hellish mess:

Assuming this is true........and Heeke needs to get Miller in his office in front of him ASAP and demand a full accounting:

1) Fire Miller...........asap
2) Suspend Ayton from the team.........immediately
3) After consultation with the NCAA......Self Sanction immediately including NOT playing in the upcoming NCAA tourney.
Please don't shriek "Win and Vacate" at me. That slogan was always silly, if not downright stupid. Without Trier/Ayton we
are not going anywhere. By taking the NCAA sanction hit now it will speed the recovery process for the program. If missing
the 2018 tourney coupled with firing the coach and accepting the loss of a scholarship or two will placate the NCAA we should
take it and RUN. This would allow the next coach to start recruiting the 2019 class without the threat of further sanctions
hanging over the program
4) Hire a new coach NOT IMPLICATED in the scandal. The Cincy/TTech coaches both look good to me. The faster we get out ahead
of the "hiring a new coach game" the better...........there will be a number of other programs that will probably end up firing
their coaches which will result in coaches like Cronin seeing a rapid rise in their market value
