Re: Sean Miller
What are you talking about with "Got the coach wrong"?
Sorry for taking a break for a shower but something must have happened while I was wearing soap-on-a-rope.

Re: Sean Miller
Hansen said, "I dont even THINK it was Deandre Ayton who was mentioned in that report. I.. I think it was uh Brian Bowen. Um. I think they got that wrong. Um. I think there were so many names that ESPN screwed it up. That.. Thats why Ayton was cleared so quickly. Um. I talked to someone yesterday who actually might... his name might rhyme with Look. And uh. You know. He said that it, uh, it wasnt Ayton at all. It was Brian Bowen. And wasnt Bowen involved with the Louisville stuff?"
Then they changed topics... HOW DO YOU LET THAT GO? How do you not follow that up with a... "Wait, you spoke with Book?" "You are saying the report is actually about Bowen and not Ayton?" "You just led the interview off by saying there was no new information!"
Sounds like they gave him a place to sling some shit on air, and then quickly move on from the claim.

Re: Sean Miller
I've wondered (not enough to do the work of research) if he meant BOWEN and not Ayton?Spaceman Spiff wrote:Just tossing it out there, I reread the initial complaint yesterday trying to find the dates of the Dawkins wire.
There is a 100k discussion remarkably similar in the initial complaint, but it is about Nassir Little. It involves Dawkins and centers on Miami coaches trying to negotiate 100k for Little's commitment.
Taking that Bowen did not go with us it still has an incriminating quotient going for it on Miller that they would exploit, but I am not sure of the commit/decommit times vs Wiretaps.

Re: Sean Miller
Sorry, twitter misspoke. He got the recruit wrong and Hansen claims he spoke with Book and Book said the 100k convo was about Bowen. Hansen also claims that Miller knew he was caught in Sep hence why he hasnt been recruiting...

wait what?TucsonClip wrote:The first thing he was asked at the beginning of the interview:
"Is there any new developments on this story?"
Hansen: "No. I hate to say that at the top of this interview. No. /laugh."
So if he spoke with Book, and Book said it was Bowen, how is that not a new development?
Old man hansen said it was Bowen from the wiretap? From Book?
I am so confused. Almost as confused as when I read his tripe about the 3 star player from vernal who wishes for that days when basketball was played with peach baskets.

So Greg said he talked to Book and he said it was Bowen not Ayton. However, he didn't say it wasn't Miller so no change on that end right?

All we need now is a Trump tweet or two on the subject.
Re: Sean Miller
I started texts to friends with how the timeline seemed odd as did Miller's actions, but it was a published report. The timeline, though.......Spaceman Spiff wrote:It seems unbelievable, but doesn't so much of this sound really unbelievable? Right now, I'd be ready to believe anything.scumdevils86 wrote:seems like a little bit of a stretch for them to be THAT wrong....right? if it was that fucked up then why is it taking so long for Miller to be cleared here? Unless there is some truth to something..
...and started stamping the texts with a percentage that Miller was innocent/not guilty of this.
It started as...1%
Then 3%. Then the first correction...5%. Then the published corrections....9%.
I was at 64% on my last text. I should stop here, right?

Re: Sean Miller
I'm flabbergasted that a guy could be asked if anything was new in the story, respond unfortunately no, and then go on some tangent about talking to Book, saying Brian Bowen is the guy and not Deandre Ayton, and then receive ZERO follow up questions to that at all. Wtf just happened? Was that real life? Am I in a simulation? Why are there men in suits, with sunglasses, and earpieces punching me?

Re: Sean Miller
For the record, lets pretend it WAS Bowen and was Miller...
Bowen does not come to Az, Milleris not indicted, there is no second step to conspiracy charges.
There IS negotiation(?) for Bowen but Miller won't play.
There is still the little wiggle about Miller saying he will be vindicated...
Now I get that he will answer something along the lines of "I will be found to be innocent" without actually using the word "innocent" regardless of guilt/innocence...
But "vindicated" seems a little strong for someone who is semi-guilty.
And Hansen is dead wrong about Miller not recruiting since Sept., remember the season started around then his head coach duties would be the priority especially with this bunch and all the other shit that hit the fan then...but I remember reading about Romar being in a gym away from Tucson FOR Miller watching a prospect in the last many months...
So once again FUCK HANSEN WITH A RUSTY POLE.

Re: Sean Miller
The "stopped recruiting" and "Bowen/Ayton...Ayton/Bowen...sound alike" talking points have literally been discussed on every single website and twitter page associated with someone who has cheered for Arizona now or in the past like 3 times or more.Longhorned wrote:Well, I think Hansen meant he stopped recruiting until recently.Gilbertcat wrote:

Next, he will go on with Jody Oehler and talk about how Sean only has one day of his camp this year*. Hell...he might even go "Amy has allergies" at this point. Or "Austin is getting ready to graduate from high school." Then...
...
PITT!
*(no offense to the poster who has good info, but this seemed very, very weird and was ultimately not true)

OK, I can't just stand by anymore without chiming in. BTW, this site should win a Pulitzer. You guys are amazing and I have been following you for probably 10 years now. Hear me out. It seems like Hansen has always had a bone to pick with the basketball program and it is well documented that he had a problem with Lute. Now it is almost as if he wants the whole thing to explode. Why in the hell would he drop this "knowledge" that it was actually Brian Bowen and not Ayton unless he wants Miller and the program destroyed. He knows Ayton has been cleared by everyone including the Feds so by him reporting that it was actually Bowen, he is essentially trying to change the narrative back to Miller is guilty and he did discuss a large payment to bring a player. His last few articles were about becoming the next Oregon State and Miller should be fired and the program is dead yada yada yada. If I remember correctly wasn't Bowen cleared after he was released by Louisville? He went to South Carolina I think. Anyways, I could be out of my mind like many of us here are over this but FUCK HANSEN and FUCK ESPN. BURN IT TO THE GROUND!
