There were a tons of possessions where their spacing was horrendous, all glomed together like an amoeba.

Shame. He was the perfect coach for them. Hopefully his replacement will be equally punchable and sucky.

I remember a couple of years in the mid-70's when Don Haskins was running the 4 corner at UTEP against Fred Snowden teams. I can't remember who got the 4 corners from who. (ETA: Professor Wikipedia says it was John McLendon that invented the 4 corner offense. Ironically, he is also "credited with increasing the pace of the game of basketball from the slow tempo of its early years to the faster tempo that prevails today." He also 'invented' the fast break and the full court press!)

I swear I remember a game where Arizona won with a score line something like 44-19. I must be hallucinating, cause the lowest scoring games I can find were in '76 when UTEP beat UA in El Paso by 19 (61-42) and then the next month UA beat UTEP in Tucson by 19 (45-64).

IIRC there was a UTEP (Don Haskins coached) game at Utah one year when the halftime score was 0-0.

I can't find any record of that. Lowest half time total is 4. https://www.sportscasting.com/5-ncaa-ba ... -be-broken.

Seem to recall when UA held WSU to 5 points in a half not that long ago.

UTEP of course is the first team in NCAA history to start 5 African Americans to win the NCAA championship, beating all white Kentucky.
