Totally, but let's face it, Chi: they have FAR more chances to increase their metrics between now and Selection Sunday than we do.Chicat wrote: ↑Thu Jan 11, 2024 11:19 amWe are top-3 in NET. If /When we lose in March-it will be because that team gets really hot from 3. Kansas is not top 50 in 3pt %... so no I don't fear Kansas... I just fear any team that starts making crazy 3s...which seems to happen against usBeachcat97 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 11, 2024 3:31 pmTotally, but let's face it, Chi: they have FAR more chances to increase their metrics between now and Selection Sunday than we do.Chicat wrote: ↑Thu Jan 11, 2024 11:19 amWe are top-3 in NET. Re: Kansas
You'd worry about Kansas in our region???
The only thing I'd worry about them being in our region is that they wouldn't give our next opponent a good enough game to wear them out!!
Addition: haven't we seen Hunter Dickinson before? I can't remember how that ended up.

Arizona State might have the most surprisingly anemic history in men's basketball of any program that you might think is better than it is.

I don’t actually fear any team this year (even Purdue). I was just taking a dig at Kansas.
Of the 12 coaches, Rush picked the one whose fans have the deepest passion, the longest memories, the greatest lung capacity and … did I mention deep passion?

Kerr Krissa is merely a harbinger of the coming Arizona dominance...
Kerr had 15 points, 3 boards, 3 assists and 2 steals!!Bill Self Livid After Late Foul Seals No. 3 Kansas Upset Loss to West Virginia
No. 3 Kansas fell on the road against West Virginia on Saturday in a tightly fought game that came down to the final seconds.
Neither team led by more than seven points all night, and in the final minute of action, it was the Mountaineers that held the advantage, leading 85–83 with just under 30 seconds to play.
Kansas pressed for a turnover as West Virginia brought the ball inbounds and attempted to cross half-court, and for a moment, it looked as though the Jayhawks had stripped the ball clean.

Technical win for KU at ISU today.
They got the home whistle. ISU took their first bonus FT in 2H with 19 sec remaining.

Re: Kansas
Good stuff Enfuego. Kansas will own Arizona no doubt. Having to play better teams I see Arizona being a mediocre team in a real conference. No more running up a good record year after year on Pac 12 powder puffs. For now maybe Arizona can avoid getting blown out by Stanford.....again. But I wouldn't count on it. Kansas looked great today by the way. Totally dominated Houston. Self is the best coach in college basketball and has been for at least 10 years.
Re: Kansas
Ask Self what his record is against Arizona. Your win against Houston was as telling as your loss to WV. You are inconsistent or you would have never been the underdog at home. I think you have a good team and the school with the best coach is the won that owns the NCAA record for wins in his first two years.
We will be entering a stronger league but you will still have to play at our place once a year and that will be a surprise for you also. Still loving Salim performance at Allen Fieldhouse. Looks like he didn't fear the phog. lol

I wish Captain Obvious had a home website so I could post as mommy.
Hi Kitten! How's my Birthday Boy! 32 is such a special day. Did you see the link I sent to Dr. Biffitzbilk's End Bed Wetting for Good? I hope you can, but don't get your hopes up again. So proud of you these many years, and you know your sisters were different, but I just think .... well, anyway.
Did Chelsea get over her infection again? She's another special partner, but puddin' you really should try to date a .... human girl .... woman, I mean, for intimacy. Sweety, I know, I know it's unfair. But the animal shelter has a three rescue animal rule. Maybe someone from, I don't know, Meals On Wheels maybe? Brenda seems nice, right? Please just think about it.
I'll bring down some soup when Bobby's team plays. Nothing like Beef and Barley with your bestie!

Re: Kansas
It is hard to win on the road in every conference. Kansas should expect that when they come to Arizona. KSU really? The team that tried as hard as it could to give the game away? hehehehehe.
Re: Kansas
Kansas St is Kenpom # 72. That's below Colorado(22), Utah(40), WSU(43), Oregon(55), Washington(61). Winning on the road is tough. I think once all the covid players are gone, we will see the parity go back to what it was pre-covid. Imagine Stanford without Spencer Jones. This is his 5th year. That's 11 points/game that will need to come from somewhere

Re: Kansas
I'm sure many Arizona fans would have watched Kansas/KSU as a great game on a night with not much else on. But I still get the feeling there's more of an approach of keeping up with what's going on in the Big XII as we move toward it than there was previously. My takeaways are:
1) Beyond the expected challenge of ranked Kansas, Houston, Baylor, Iowa St, BYU, Texas Tech, and TCU...places like KSU, with their "octagon of doom" mean there are almost no breathers in Big XII basketball.
2) Some real head-scratching officiating calls last night (both ways; just ineptitude.) We may be thrilled to get away from what all too often looks like bias and an overly ticky-tack approach in the Pac-12, but there will no doubt also be times where we're not happy with Big XII refs.
