UCLA Basketball in trouble!

Re: UCLA Basketball in trouble?
uCla has definitely beaten Arizona in some games it shouldn't have. But for Bug to talk about wishing their was a rematch in Pauley, right after a game where Arizona played their worst offensive game of the season, held uCla to 47 points, and STILL won by double digits---is downright comical.
I know a few bruin alums. None of them care for Alford or give a shit about this team...which is very sad.

Re: UCLA Basketball in trouble?
I dont think anyone thought he'd be an impact guy out of high school. Whether or not that should be a requirement for a McD AA is another story but he'll be a impact player down the road. Having a system that doesn't get post players many touches also doesn't help development eitherChicat wrote:Whether that's true or not does not lessen my shock that Welsh was so highly thought of coming out of high school.MrBug708 wrote:Most of our team sucks
Re: UCLA Basketball in trouble?
I'm guessing there is no chance Looney stays. Kid would be a force at UCLA next year.
Re: UCLA Basketball in trouble?
Hey Bug, you are right about losing all those bets. I still owe you a sig bet but you, never told me what you wanted. Think it will be awhile in football untill we beat you guys. I said four years when Mora came in and that might be spot on.
As gor bball, I thought that was the hardest I have seen UCLA play this season. Do you agree?

Re: UCLA Basketball in trouble?
Come on down, Zimmerman and Brown. Follow in Looney's foosteps. Play for a has-been program where the coach's son rules the roost. Before a 2/3 empty arena.
The only reason elite HS players should be considering UCLA is if they want to graduate. How many Bruins who've left early in the past 10 years have graduated? Shabazz, Anderson, Adams, Lavine, Holiday, Westbrook...how are those upper division units coming along? And soon we'll add Looney to this list. I bet he wishes he went to Duke.

Re: UCLA Basketball in trouble?
No idea but KA was the primary ball handler last year. Prince Ali and Holiday probably aren't pure PGs enough to probably overtake Alford next year.

Hard to take this question seriously. One guy is a PG, the other is, well, Steve Alford's non-PG son.Bosy Billups wrote:Good point. I saw something showing Lunardi had sucla as one of the last 4 in..... I about broke my tv in half at that stupidity. If they are "last 4 in" then ASSU should get an 8 seed.

Yeah, that's a joke....unless they win the P12 Tourney, they don't deserve a bid.......suspect they are riding on pure rep to be even on the bubble at this time......friggin' unbelievable!splitsecond wrote:I saw something showing Lunardi had sucla as one of the last 4 in..... Alford is and will be a bust IMHO......they will fire his butt in 3-5 years......will be fun to watch especially with all their 'sore loser' tears on their boards right now......

Enfield is a mirage......folks are blinded by his one NCAA ride and the hotness of his wife IMO. I don't get those who think he's such a great Coach.....must be a hell of a Salesman though with his wife . I suspect he'll be a decent recruiter (like USC is a tough sell, lol) and a mediocre Coach.MrBug708 wrote:I'm sure you'll be full of posts about how Enfield's ceiling could be higher than Millers..Beachcat97 wrote:Please let this happen.Olsondogg wrote:When USC beats them in Pauley, they will not dance.

I think you are making this tongue in cheek. I don't see anyway USC takes down the Bruins. If they do, all hail ODogg and his picks.

Not smart enough to find this board.
Re: UCLA Basketball in trouble?
So UCLA took a commitment from the 262 best player in the 2015 class?
That's...interesting.

Re: UCLA Basketball in trouble?
He plays in my neck of the woods. From articles I've seen about him he's good and steady but unspectacular. Has a slow release on his jumper so I don't know that he'll ever be a contributing stretch 4 for the Bruins. Probably just a bench filler barring some kind of steep incline in his skill set.
I know the allure of UCLA but honestly this kid probably would have been better served playing under Herb.

Williams noted, "In LA, you rate the year based on UCLA and USC."
Daniels said UCLA and USC have brought in strong recruits and top-20 classes again this year. Both teams have had to restock rosters, USC after seasons of futility and UCLA after an exodus to the NBA. He said fortunes should improve.
But recurring success matters, especially for elite prospects.
Mater Dei's Stanley Johnson, who has become one of the top freshmen in the nation, said his college decision was easy. He said he wanted an elite basketball program, somewhere with nice weather.
Johnson considered staying home, and USC was one of his final two choices.
But, Johnson said, "I wanted to play at the top level at the NCAA. And there's only one program on the West Coast that provided that for me."
That school? Arizona.
