not gonna fault ucla for getting to the sweet 16. they didn't deserve to be in the tourney, and then after getting in they got a nice easy path, but they did what they had to do and rode it to the sweet 16. Good for them.
You could say the same thing with the 08-09 Wildcats under Russ Pennell. They took advantage and reached the sweet 16 as a 12 seed. UCLA got lucky to be included and took advantage of it.

The team that the talking heads always complain about getting into the tourney, always seems to make some noise.

Good for UCLA.

Good for UCLA. Next they get to be killed by Kentucky.
They play the winner of the Iowa/Gonzaga game.

I edited my post... I'm an idiot. I saw Kentucky getting ready to get on the court and just assumed they would play each other. Forgot about the whole pod thing.

Yep.
It's long past time to bring this back to the court, let's do it with a small update:

And still lost by 17. I'm still trying to wrap my head around the idea of them in the Sweet 16. "This" UCLA team would have finished 2nd in the Pac-12.

Cinci is getting killed on offensive rebounds and in the paint. That's UK's strength. No team who doesn't have the bigs will be able to compete.

Cincinnati fans should be ashamed of themselves. It's 100 miles to Louisville and they barely even showed up for this. Pathetic.

Kentucky travels very well, probably better than Arizona. I'm sure a lot of tickets were snatched up on Stubhub or Craig's List by UK fans.

Cincy doesn't want to go home.

And if they could just hit a layup they wouldn't have to.

This game is over. Cinci can't make layups and is leaving points at the FT line. You can't do this against UK and expect to win.

Which way do you mean? Their length and athleticism means they seem hard to score on (although Cincy never scores more than 45-50 a game anyway), but their "offense" is mostly through chucking the ball up and getting the offensive rebound.

For a team drooling with pro prospects they seem to have a hard time scoring.

Yeah, I get the same impression. Gotta box out, and we'll have a good shot. Our offense >>>>>>>>> Cincy's

Our defensive rebounding is also much better than Cinci. I'm curious how second shots UK would get.

Implying that means something. ECU held them to 46, Memphis to 50, VCU to 47 @ home, Nebraska to 55 in double OT, and Tulane held them to 49. Cincinnati problems scoring are well documented. UK's good defensively, but Cincy is also pretty bad at offense.

Well when I posted that OSU was leading, but OSU is down this year and as a 10 seed are only down 1 at the half.
