Calling themselves Guard U after winning a few nonconference games is funny as hell. You HAVE to back it up if you’re gonna try to pull that off. I’d feel like such a loser warming up in a Guard U shirt while being near the bottom of the PAC.

They need to change their shirts now. Maybe:

"Guard U-turn" or
"Guard YooHoo" or
"Guard U-Haul" or
"Guard UFO"

Anything but "Guard U" because they aren't and may never be. When are they going to realize that a team does not become "Guard U" team in just one season.

PS - I wonder how long it will be until they rebuild the wall? Maybe turn it into a senior engineering project. Either way, they should have waited longer to take it down.

If they didnt beat Kansas during Kansas's version of the Bahamas, Tempe would have looked totally different. It has always been easy to win when the other team was looking ahead towards UA. Now they are getting each team's focus. Their non conference SOS is 146.....they were not tested.

They're not going to build the wall. They'll just start claiming natural barriers are the wall they promised to build.

I like ASU using Guard U. They can call themselves that while everyone else calls them below .500 in the Pac.

More like “Can’t Guard U”.

Any chance of winning the PAC title totally finished six games into the PAC schedule.

Right before Christmas, ASU fans spoke of #1 seeds, a Final Four run and contending for a national championship. UA fans nodded approvingly and said, "See you December 30."
It's now January 18th, ASU has lost 4 of 6 and they're sliding towards the bubble the same way Matthew McCoughnehy's space ship slipped into the black hole in Interstellar. Bye bye ASU. At least you have baseball season to look forward to....oh wait. Nevermind. At least you have Herm Edwards and spring ball to look forward to.

ASU has to lose a ton more games to be anywhere near the bubble because of their wins over Kansas Be Xavier. Like go 5-7 or worse to finish the rest of conference play.
i was going to put the ua/asu records here...but i forgot what they were.

i'll just go with fuck asu.

They will. I don't see the NCAA taking a sub-.500 in league PAC team. We aren't the ACC. Looking at the remaining schedule, I see them dropping 7 or 8 more.

@ Cal W
Utah
Colorado (will lose at least one of these two)
@Washington L
@ Wazzu L
USC
UCLA (will lose at least one of these two)
Arizona L
@ Oregon L
@ Oregon St. L

NIT bound.

Or that it's a virtual wall, or a metaphor, as if they understand what that is. Surely they'll insist we pay for it. We're the P(l)ayer's Program, right? Oh, oh, I know: The Beard will make a donation?

If they want, I can take a dump in a box for 1% of that total. Save them some serious cash for the same result.

The executive summary notes that Wells Fargo Arena “has had very modest investment since it was constructed over forty years ago. Mechanical systems and infrastructure are at the end of or beyond their useful lives, and the facility’s appearance, function and amenities are outdated.

That second sentence for the executive summary kind of sums up ASUs basketball program the last 40 years too.

It would come closer if it ended with "Of course, due to lack of success and fan support, no one has really noticed until now."
