I loved Momo, he was exactly the player we needed on that team, but I hope we never have another PG that takes 18 shots and has 1 assist in a game
To be fair it was a Double OT game.baconus66 wrote:I loved Momo, he was exactly the player we needed on that team, but I hope we never have another PG that takes 18 shots and has 1 assist in a game
You can win like that. Kemba Walker had 19 shots and 0 assists when Uconn won the national title.baconus66 wrote:I loved Momo, he was exactly the player we needed on that team, but I hope we never have another PG that takes 18 shots and has 1 assist in a game
curious to your answer, but what was Mark Lyons to you?gumby wrote:Lamont Jones was the anti-Miller. Will never be another one like him as long as he's coach.

Right back at you. How about a "right where we want to be" gift wrapped and placed under the tree?97cats wrote:yep, one yr rental.gumby wrote:Yeah, good point. Lyons was "Damn, Josiah didn't work out!"
happy holidays to you and your family, Gumby -- I appreciate you and enjoy your contributions.
With a calf on the way, you'll be all substance. Tired substance, but still.Longhorned wrote:If it weren't for gumby, I'd just be air.

Was thinking about this as we went past 80. In fact, I Think we have scored 80+ in our last 4 games right? Likely to be 5 since we play Long Beach St Tuesday and they get up and down the floor97cats wrote:63-1
We are averaging something like 78 points/game on the year.azcat49 wrote:Was thinking about this as we went past 80. In fact, I Think we have scored 80+ in our last 4 games right? Likely to be 5 since we play Long Beach St Tuesday and they get up and down the floor97cats wrote:63-1
Could've been 26-0, but 14 second-half turnovers.97cats wrote:63-1
7th in scoring in conference. First in defense, by 5 ppg. So, not the defense WE are used to, but still the best.ASUHATER! wrote:We're 99th in scoring offense right now. 15th in scoring defense
Not only that, but their 2pt Defense % has been downright awful.ChooChooCat wrote:This has nothing to do with Sean Miller, but we currently live in a world where Tony Bennett is the coach of the team with the #1 efficient offense in the nation. I expect the four horsemen of the apocalypse to attack any moment now.

He's so freaking aggressive going to the rim. Love seeing that. If he can keep the unforced turnovers down, he's going to be a huge force, especially when we can't get a basket, he's really good at initiating contact and either finishing or getting to the FT line. Definitely a great call.azcat49 wrote:Keep thinking about Miller and his conversation with Allen about redshirting last year. What a great call and both of them are to be commended
Despite all clear evidence to the contrary, I do remain strangely unconvinced.Puerco wrote:Congrats, LH, but are you sure? Because, as we all know you can't just come out and ask a woman if she's pregnant. Nothing to be gained there, so...? Are you SURE?
Wasn't me - she vehemently didn't want kids, until she turned 30 and vehemently wanted kids.Alieberman wrote:I had no idea Longhorned wanted kids. You should have mentioned something... I would have given you mine.
I think Allen needed that redshirt for academic reasons, which don't necessarily reflect concerns about his ability or effort level in the classroom, but Miller addressed with a redshirt because he's running a first-class program in the interests of his players as student-athletes. There's good reason to suspect that the UNC situation isn't limited to UNC, but that's not how things are run in Miller's program. As far as basketball goes, Allen would have been ready last year and I think PJC would have made more sense for the redshirt.azcat49 wrote:Keep thinking about Miller and his conversation with Allen about redshirting last year. definitely. too hard right now to benchmark ourselves vs. the rest of the pac, given our soft nonconf schedule (and injuries). kenpom + daily rpi SOS are in the high 200s right now. we'll know soon enough, though. can't wait for conference play to begin.gumby wrote:7th in scoring in conference. We're 11th in made threes and 11th in percentage. Only ASU shoots it worse. That game is going to be war in the paint. Slashing and boarding.
Of course, the true comparisons will come when the teams play each other.
NOTE: Last year we led the conference in scoring, at 76.6. This year, we're scoring more (with more turnovers), but scoring is up overall. Rule changes are working.
Nice acknowledgment of Coach Miller's early success this season. Crazy that we're nearly undefeated and haven't had Zeus for most of the season.Merkin wrote:CBS Sports

Going forward, the Pac looks much, much stronger than last season. Road wins will be hard to come by, even against the league's lower tier. Of the Pac teams I've seen, Cal, UCLA, Utah, and AZ have looked the best. These four will finish 1-4. No idea about the order.
Four teams the above should be prepared for: Colorado, Oregon, USC(Yes), ASU.Beachcat97 wrote:Nice acknowledgment of Coach Miller's early success this season. Crazy that we're nearly undefeated and haven't had Zeus for most of the season.Merkin wrote:CBS Sports
