The only thing sadder than enfuego's takes in this thread is what has become of Steve Lavin's hair.

Great ending to the Texas/UConn game. Glad to see UConn go down. I wonder how Ryan Boatright's ankle injury is? Hard to lose your best player.
Re: non conference game thread
Great ending. Barnes can draw up a play. Who knew?
But look at that score, 56-55. Better change the defense to help the offense.

Kansas, 61-56. Two more teams to eliminate from March.
Man, those Sparty bunny misses reminded me of our early games last year. Except we won.

35-29 Kentucky with about 11 minutes left.
Where's Don MacLean to tell us how Kentucky never lets inferior teams hang around?

Stanford trying to rally from 18 down against mighty DePaul.
Kentucky wins 58-38. I dunno. Might be a trend with these scores.

Like I said, Kentucky beats Arizona by 40. You have no perimeter game. Kansas also beats Arizona.gumby wrote:You should run for office. Providence gave Kentucky a better game.enfuego wrote:Nice win against Michigan St. (Kenpom #13).gumby wrote:Kansas, 61-56. Two more teams to eliminate from March.

Where is that other former prolific poster from Kansas - the one that actually knew something about basketball.

Love the narrative when UK plays a really subpar game and "dominates" and "drubbed" the competition, eventually winning by 20 at home.
Hilarious. Print up the 40-0 shirts now UK fans!

For a team that is supposed to be all world, UK certainly looks beatable.

Arizona, 34 percent.
Kansas, 32.6 percent.
But Arizona has no perimeter game OK, then.

am I reading the rankings correctly.
did SDSU just move UP in the rankings after losing to us?

They sure did. I guess almost beating Arizona is just as good as beating us. Gonzaga will move up next week no matter what!PieceOfMeat wrote:am I reading the rankings correctly.

Noted defensive juggernauts Iowa and North Carolina just battled to a 60-55 finish. Someone tell Williams and McCaffery they need to learn a thing or two about offense!
BTW we scored less than 60 twice last year.

Duke-Wisconsin is 35-32 at the half, only three points ahead of our glacial pace in the SDSU game!
Someone needs to tell K and Bo Ryan they need to learn how to coach offense!

Re: non conference game thread
Duke may be pulling away now. They are just so sharp on offense from every position on the floor. I saw their Stanford win. Looked like a really good win. 10 points most of the way. Go Badgers!
Edit: Familiar Story: Kaminsky is just impossible to guard. Takes it from outside the 3pt line multiple dribbles and spins to the rim. Getting fouled a lot now.

Re: non conference game thread
Watching the Kentucky/Texas game while I wait for football to start. It's actually kinda funny how much they remind me of our team. Great defense that wears teams down, but very slow offensive starts. A lot of Bilas' comments apply to us as well.

Michigan juts became a must win game. They just lost to NJIT. At home.

Wow. Well we know we can win but we'll still find a way to be down like 15-4 to them likek 10 minutes into the game.AZCatGirl wrote:Michigan juts became a must win game. They just lost to NJIT. At home.

NJIT? really?
if michigan loses to emu, we should just cancel the game before they turn into one of those teams that bring down your rpi just by playing them. i'm being hyperbolic, but really i'm hoping they'll challenge wisconsin in b1g play this season. too bad mitch mcgary isn't around stil
