Re: Oregon
If freaking Oregon is gonna play spoiler in the pac 12 this year they better get this Baylor game.
Arizona State might have the most surprisingly anemic history in men's basketball of any program that you might think is better than it is.

I'm inclined to think no way Baylor loses this, but it's never easy to win in the Ducks' arena, not even in a year when Oregon is struggling.

Baylor's been so clearly the better team all game long.

This Brown kid for Baylor is something else.
Re: Oregon
Oregon is better than losing to ASU though. They will be a handful.

Re: Oregon
Oregon will end up either 3rd or 4th in the Pac.
Re: Oregon
The top 3 are UA, UCLA & USC. I don't see Oregon being better than any of those 3 and Washington State is playing decent so I'd say 4th or 5th at best
Re: Oregon
If they’re close to the tournament. The PAC will serve us up as a “Key Win” for the Ducks.

Re: Oregon
He was fantastic. Like a shorter Aaron Gordon that could hit some free throws, although that team sucks at free throws. Horrid, they will lose a game or two this year due to their bad free throw shooting.

Altman is currently the best coach in the Pac until someone else takes that title from him.
Go Ducks tonight, btw.

Re: Oregon
That is not the Oregon team that lost to ASU. More grit. Altman and their own pride taking over although they gave UCLA a chance to take it to OT with the worst clutch basketball at the end of the 2nd half in a century.
Re: Oregon
Oregon is going to screw the conference out of some protected seeds on their way to earning a tourney play-in game.
Of the 12 coaches, Rush picked the one whose fans have the deepest passion, the longest memories, the greatest lung capacity and … did I mention deep passion?

Re: Oregon
The conference needs to vote to get rid of Altman, he does this every year it seems. Sucks it up in OOC and then figures it out come conference play giving everyone bad losses.

Re: Oregon
Think it actually helps the league (and by extension AZ) to have Oregon trending upward. It’s potentially another quality win for us. Remember, we only get them at McKale this year.
Re: Oregon
It doesn’t help when they drive down the ranking of everyone they beat by being so bad early in the season. We play those teams too.Beachcat97 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 14, 2022 9:35 amThink it actually helps the league (and by extension AZ) to have Oregon trending upward. Re: Oregon
Oregon just beat the #3 team in the country. They still have two games vs. USC and another vs. UCLA. If they win some of those, their NET ranking is going to rise, possibly into top 25 territory. This is all to say: it's not too late for Oregon to become a quality opponent, in spite of their poor showing in the OOC season. But yeah, if they beat UCLA but then lose to Utah and/or Oregon State, they're not helping. The margin for error is just very slim for the Ducks right now.Chicat wrote: ↑Fri Jan 14, 2022 11:39 amIt doesn’t help when they drive down the ranking of everyone they beat by being so bad early in the season. Re: Oregon
Going into the season, most thought Oregon was the 2nd best team in the Pac. Starting to look more likely. They’re very good on offense, like most Altman teams. Winning two in L.A. is always impressive, even if USC is overrated af.dovecanyoncat wrote: ↑Sat Jan 15, 2022 10:14 pm SC is being exposed and Oregon is finding itself. Oregon jumped 20 spots in NET rankings after yesterday. Now 58th. Still on the low side, but if they keep winning, that’s potentially another Q2 matchup for us.

Difference between hero and team ball, that’s why.
My emotions during that sequence were:
- Huh (why aren’t we fouling?)
- What (WTF is he doing driving?)
- Oh No (he’s going to kick it out for a tieing 3)
- HaHa (dumb play not even getting a shot off)
- Sweet (as in revenge for all of those past last second Duck plays to beat us)
