Well, this day is shaping up quite nicely. Illinois wins. Auburn loses. Can Herb Sendak pull off a miracle tonight?

not a huge loss for Tennessee but one that prob moves them back to the top of the four line in the South Region as of today. a win against Missouri and then Auburn next weekend would move them back up to the bottom half - and they get Arkansas back on March 5 in Knoxville for good measure.

Is there a team with a wider variance of play at home versus away than Tennessee?

Feels like a team that bows out real early in the tourney.

It's probably the home cooking by the refs.

So Howard was running a full press with only seconds left against the Wiscy scrubs, and the scrub wanted a time out to deal with it.
Should probably just do away with the handshake line. UA doesn't do it, at least where I have seen it.

He got into it with Mark Turgeon of Maryland last year.

Not entirely true. The Wisky coach did first grab Howard albeit to talk to him and then Howard lost it.

But saying you did not instigate anything is untrue. He could have shaken his hand and said nothing and walked away.

Gard really should not have put his hands on Howard in the handshake line to stop him from leaving the court. That and whatever the UW coaches were saying is what sent this into the stratosphere.

Howard though... oh boy. Horrible response.

Well this is exactly like when Alford called timeout with 15 seconds left at Arizona and said it was to make sure his team was prepared when they were up by 10. SM did not get into a fight but it was fucking bush league by UCLA and Sean did not forget. As you know he called time out in the tourney with 2 seconds left and leading. The Wisky coach was up big and wanted to rub it in. I have always said that players will police the game and if you try and embarrass them you will feel their wrath. Whether that is an elbow or a shot at a knee during a lose ball. In this case the Wisky coach grabbed an already agitated Howard. If you recall in the UCLA game I don't think SM shook his hand. In my view this is on Wisky although Howard should be suspended because he should be a role model.
Also in that video it appears that a Wisky coach has a hand on a Michigan player (nothing bad) but just talking to an Ariz player by Mick sent Tommy into a fierce reaction.

I think it's bullshit. Howard didn't even instigate it. Suspend and fine him, move on.

Cronin has a history of confrontations. He had one when he was the coach at Cincy in a game against Chris Mack and Xavier. Short man's disease. He would get his ass kicked by Aida.

I guess Juwan thinks that only him and his boys should be able to continue playing and coaching full-throttle until the final buzzer, while expecting everyone else to play by the "unwritten rules." Or maybe he just sucks as a coach, and isn't smart enough to realize that Gard was only reacting to the situation that the full court press put him in.

Then he tries to get away with the "I'll remember that shit" drive-by in the handshake line as if he had the moral high ground, and Gard wasn't trying to hear it. But instead of listening and talking it out, Juwan just wanted to bark and slap.

I don't think he's mad at anything that happened on the court. He's mad because he knows he should be doing much better with the team he has.

Wasn't there a large group of Wildcat fans who wanted us to hire Damon, Terry, or Simon based on what Juwan was doing at Michigan? Dude will probably be coaching for his job next year.
