and i will say if Kentucky and Auburn do lose now as well it doesnt matter what happens for Arizona and Gonzaga tonight
Re: 2021-22 non PAC-12 games
Michigan St is about a 8-9 seed if they get in . Not a scary team but Izzo does seem to wield some magic in March.
Watching that game we might have seen Two of the worst inbound plays in the history of basketball LOL

Re: 2021-22 non PAC-12 games
Michigan State is now in and i would not mind them one bit - on a neutral floor their suspect guard play and weakness at the point of attack will be no match for AZ. i actually have them on my welcome list which im starting to group together in fours.

Go Bud Walton!!!
Arizona State might have the most surprisingly anemic history in men's basketball of any program that you might think is better than it is.

It's the same dilemma time after time: do I stop yammering on BDW and turn on the Arkansas/Kentucky game and risk jinxing it?

I know they are down to the Hogs at half but Kentucky looks like a physically imposing team.

I was rooting against Kentucky. But I’m rethinking that. I’d rather they get a #1 seed so we can avoid them

at this point its not a bad comment at all - AZ gettin a #1 regardlessAlieberman wrote: ↑Sat Feb 26, 2022 1:49 pm I was rooting against Kentucky. But I’m rethinking that. I’d rather they get a #1 seed so we can avoid them

Re: 2021-22 non PAC-12 games
I think Auburn/Kentucky and Kansas/Baylor are 1/2 seeds and as was said they can’t be in the same regional so it gives us a pretty tough #2 any way you slice it

Today's game is 1 good reason why, once he's isolated at the top of the key, Williams cooked him.
His offense is also limited, can only get putbacks, layins and dunks

I don't worry about them because it's hard to see them as our #2 seed tbhAlieberman wrote: ↑Sat Feb 26, 2022 1:49 pm I was rooting against Kentucky. But I’m rethinking that. I’d rather they get a #1 seed so we can avoid them
I worry more about Arkansas climbing from their #6 seed to a #5 or #4 in the South with Arizona. That'd be a tough S16 game

All Sweet 16 match-ups are tough but on a neutral court I don’t really fear Arkansas. They are a good team but I see DT shutting down Note.RondaeShimmy wrote: ↑Sat Feb 26, 2022 2:32 pmI don't worry about them because it's hard to see them as our #2 seed tbhAlieberman wrote: ↑Sat Feb 26, 2022 1:49 pm I was rooting against Kentucky. Re: 2021-22 non PAC-12 games
Two observations from this UT/Auburn game:
It’s apparently easy to get under Jabari Smith’s skin, and Bruce Pearl’s underboob sweat is fucking nasty. Wear an undershirt you hog.

Of the 12 coaches, Rush picked the one whose fans have the deepest passion, the longest memories, the greatest lung capacity and … did I mention deep passion?

Re: 2021-22 non PAC-12 games
so coming with bad news again after Vols win - depending on your view on Coach Krysankdithiski but if Baylor loses to Kansas the Jayhawks will all but lock up a #1 seed but Baylor will continue to drop and Duke who plays nobody (shitty Syracuse today) will continue to climb.
BUT!! here is the annoying part, they came into the weekend as the 4th number two seed, their home losses to unranked Miami and Virginia at Cameron Indoor will keep them off the one line, but the continued winning could vault them to the highest number two seed (5/6 overall) and potentially displacing Baylor in the South or Purdue in the East which would be one of the things i wouldnt want.
now, the committee could stick them in the East but depending if they end 5/6 overall it will be the East or South Region, not shipped West to the number one overall seed, whether that be Gonzaga or Arizona.

Re: 2021-22 non PAC-12 games
Boeheim’s vaunted zone D is not so vaunted.
If Baylor wins you know Duke becomes the favorite to move up to the 1 line.
I think I’m going to puke.

Re: 2021-22 non PAC-12 games
Guys you got to win them all and I worry more about an 8 seed being way under seeded than who is number two. Some will be better matchups then others and I get that but you got to win them all. Smith from Auburn reminds me of Kevin Durant light.
Re: 2021-22 non PAC-12 games
Remind me, are the top 16 s-curved or does each seed line get geo assigned based on seed line 1-4 ? Didn't this change a few years ago?

Re: 2021-22 non PAC-12 games
I don't think duke has a chance for #1 seed at all. The committee had said repeatedly that the whole year matters, that November/December counts the same as February.
It isn't as fun but the bracket doesn't really change day to day like Lunardi's does.
There's 5 teams ahead of them at worst, 2 teams who'll win their conferences in way better leagues who have a huge leg up on them at best.

home losses to unranked Miami and Virginia should keep them off the one line but they are rising to 5/6 overall and thats what sucks

Re: 2021-22 non PAC-12 games
If Arizona holds as the top 2 #1 seed, they'd still wouldn't matchup with us in the s-curve. It would be Midwest or East (most likely) because that's auburn and Kansas as #3 and #4 overall.
Kentucky would be the team that could drop to us in the South if duke rose to overall 5/6. But they'll still be top 6 in the end so I don't see it. The last #1 seed will get the #1 in the east (as of now Kansas or Auburn) and they'll get duke because auburn/Kentucky prevent any other matchup if Baylor falls off. Would look something like this.
1 (1) Gonzaga
1 (2) Arizona
1 (3) Kansas
1 (4) auburn
2 (5) duke
2 (6) Kentucky
2 (7) Baylor
2 (8) Purdue
Either way, we're pretty much stuck with Baylor as our 2 seed (prevent big 12 or sec pairings in the same bracket)

We are talking about DUKE guys. Why would metrics have anything to do with it.
